It's almost a classic with me. In the moment I click a pop up screen another one pops up so that I accidently click that one instead  I don't know what it was but now my otherwise totally clean new ruler has the trusting trait.

I don't suppose I can force an event that will rid my ruler of that trait without giving him another? He's quite skilled except in intrigue. Now he sucks. I don't want that, especially when I didn't get to read whatever it was that popped up grrr.

Can you think of an event that can remove trusting trait? If yes what other trait will it give? It's unlucky that an otherwise clean ruler (only trait is modest) will now get a second trait, but I'm almost accepting anything just to get rid of trusting.

1. Open your save file with notepad++
2. Search for your ruler using ctrl+f and type in his first name
3. make sure it's your ruler by checking if his piety, prestige matches
3. Delete the line saying something like trusting = yes
4. ??
5. profit

I can think of the wife's infidelity events that'd remove trusting trait IIRC, but for other reasons you wouldn't want those.

In the future, when something important pops up, pause your game for a second. This way, nothing should pop up in your way.

I know I should pause the game, but it mostly happens with something not important coming up and just as I want to click that something important jumps up...

Thanks for the help. But can I ask also where the save game folder is normally located?

C: / Program Files / Paradox Entertainment / Crusader Kings / scenarios / save games.

:)

Thanks for the folder path. But I think I have to surrender the fight. There's only one savegame there. And judging from its name its most certainly not the one I play now. Quite strange as I have lots of saves ingame...

That is strange indeed. Perhaps it's an old installation, and your current install is located somewhere else? Your saved game should definately be in the Crusader Kings directory.
