Is there any way to tell, just by looking, whether a newly discovered province is 'coastal' or not. In other words, not all provinces with a coastline will support a port. Is there some way, short of sending a colonist, to find out if a province will support a port.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

You can tell whether a neutral province will have a port by looking at that isometric picture of it on the left (the one that eventually gets the buildings). If you see a little bit of water on the bottom left it can become a port.

However, I know of no way to determine whether another country's trading post can become a port. This is kinda bad.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one. Geez, how did I miss that?

Thanks.
