January 11th 1936

The United Kingdom was in need. Across the Channel war seemed to be looming, the fires of industry were booming in Europe as Tanks rolled out in Germany, and the fortifications of the Maginot Line were hammered out.

The UK however was producing it's troops at an alarming slow rate, Ships were coming in on a slower and slower production scale than ever before, and the Factories could not keep up with the factories of the big powers on the continent.

War seemed imminent, and the leaders of the UK realized they were not prepared. They needed something more, and fast.

Stanley Baldwin: Anthony, we dont have the resources or the industrial capacity to win a war on the continent, we need more.

Anthony Eden: I'm aware of this and I'm pressing hard on our friends in America to shoulder into an Alliance, but Roosevelt seems...

Stanley Baldwin: He seems what Anthony?

Anthony Eden: He seems... Uninterested to say the least, he has no interest what so ever in becoming embroiled in Europe and in the midst of domestic issues, he has no interest to start throwing his nations industrial might behind us.

Stanley Baldwin: This is... disturbing news to say the least... I have been discussing options with our Generals and with the Neville, all agree that if war breaks out our industry cannot handle it, we either need a miracle in Europe or American Industrial support.

Anthony Eden: Then we need a miracle in Europe...

Stanley Baldwin: Not Exactly.

Anthony Eden: What else can we do? We cant force them to help!

Stanley Baldwin: Anthony, have you looked at what shape the American Military is in? Our troops could march straight south into Washington, with support from our Canadian Friends.

Anthony Eden: You cant be searous! It would be an outrage through out the world! You cant expect us to have any support for such a venture!

Stanley Baldwin: Au contraire, we can if they shoot first. The Sea is a... confusing place...

Anthony Eden: Stanley?

Stanley Baldwin: The HMS Plymouth is about to pass by the American ship the Norfolk, in about an hour the ship will explode, albeit with our sailors removed using life rafts before hand, the implication will be that the Americans fired on a prized vessel of the Royal Navy destroying it and instigating a war.

Anthony Eden: This is... astounding... there is no turning back then...

Stanley Baldwin: No, there is not... May god forgive us for what we have committed ourselves to.

In the early hours of January the 11th 1936 the Atlantic Fleet, and the Dover Transport fleet steamed for Canada, carrying the Aldershot Command, behind them would follow 4 more Divisions of the Empire, to assemble in Canada and prepare for the inevitable.

Canada had received word of the British troop movements, and expected them after hearing of the destruction of the HMS Plymouth. They too had begun to assemble some troops in response to their allies movements, and to support them should conflict emerge.

America upon learning of the sinking, had a perfect response for the UK. The President expressed remorse, but did not say anything else, and Senators had bursts of anger at the Implications from Britian, giving an image of an unsure response to a very searous incident, in which according to the Royal Navy all sailors had died with the ship save 4 suriviors who claimed the US ship had fired on them.

Secretly the Sailors were brought back to the UK, and given new names and reinducted into the fleet.

The 3rd British Invasion of America would begin before the month was out if all went well.

I'll try and post an update once or twice a day.

No cheats will be used, save the Freedom Cheat to make war possible.

Interesting. I don't want to sound harsh but the prologue seems a bit unrealistic considering that just the two distinguished men (well actually seemed that only one and the othe just accepted it) had planned this and everyone else in the government and in the parliament swallowed this. I was left wanting to know more.

But on the other hand and interesting idea :) and I'm interested to see how it goes. Never would have thought of a UK vs USA scenario.

Yeah, not to realistic but I just wanted to try this out.

Update

British Troops landed in Canada quickly and soon the entire Atlantic, Mediterranian and Home Fleets and made it to the coast of the United States. A total of 5 Divisions initially landed alongside several Canadian Divisions, and 2 divisions that landed in Eastern Canada from New Zealand.

America was shocked and promptly moved it's ships to sea, as well as began raising troops.

Within days the United Kingdom declared war, the Allied Nations soon followed and troops spilled across the border and ships set to sea.

The Americans were astounded by the Naval Battles that followed over the next few days, in a series of heavy fights with the massive Royal Navy Fleets, the entire core of the American Atlantic Fleet was obliterated. However ships began arriving from the Pacafic and launched an attack at Jamaica, the marines were repulsed but heavy shelling and torpedo bombings destroyed the fleet anchored there.

However as the fleet moved North, a terrible turn of a events unfolded for the American fleet. It ran head first into the Royal Navy Home Fleet, and Atlantic Fleet. They were crushed, and pursued to the point of obliteration.

By the end of the month the UK had total control of the Eastern Seaboard.

But the Americans had not lost their teeth at sea just yet, various light cruisers and heavy cruisers and destroyes still roamed and attacked convoys and small fleets at will. The most outstanding raid that had been seen in many a long year occured, when 3 American Heavy Cruisers, and 4 Light Cruisers and Destroyers, sailed all the way to the Northern Tip of Scotland, and began shelling Scapa Flow, sinking several ships and destroying many convoys before withdrawing to the protection of the sea.

But on the ground things went very much like bedlam. The initial advances had proved wildy successful with English troops seizing Maine in a matter of days and moving then marching into Boston with a ringing Irony, that the first major conquest was once the heart of the American Rebellion.

American troops ignored the intial advance and moved into Portland cutting off the British troops, and then moving into Canada.

However, this soon changed as the American forces utterly failed in their assault on Boston, allowing the British to brush aside the American troops and encircle a Division in Portland with Canadian support. Troops from the Middle East arrived in Boston as the front stabelized as Canadian Infantry retook all their land from the withdrawing American forces.

British troops moving down from Canada fought a bitter fight with American troops in Detroit, eventually overwhelming the Americans and overunning them in Cleaveland.

As the dust settled from the intial advance the tally was much higher than expected on both sides. Over 40 major American vessels were sunk hundreds of smaller vessels destroyed, with over 6,000 sailors KIA and thousands wounded, on land they had done much better pulling an odd manuever that although lead to their destruction forced the British to halt their advance for a full month to deal with the renegade divisions. Canadian losses were heavy as they had fought tooth and nail for Ottowa holding on while losing over 1,100 men KIA. New Zealand had suffered less than 100 losses in minor skirmishes as they prepared to move south. United Kingdom losses exceeded 1,600 KIA for the entire advance. American Army losses had exceeded 5,400 KIA for their staunch defense of their territory.

As the dust settled from the intial operation, the troops of the United Kingdom trained their field guns on New York City, as they moved into position for the next phase in the operation...

Go The Empire!! :D

Nice AAR all good fun... :)

Sir Clive.

Last update for a day or two I think since it's fairly major.

America was putting up a bitter fight and the masses had rallied to it's defence and were holding British Troops along the entire line.

The fighting continued until the newly arrived Highland Divisions smashed the American troops in New York and found that their were no troops in front of them, A single division was left behind as the Two Highland Divisions moved south seizing everything from Atlantic City to Norfolk.

To shocked crowds of people in Washington DC, British troops moved through the city. The American flag was respectivly kept up, and the British Flag hoisted up next to it.

At sea the Americans still had one more terrible surprise to throw, the entire Hawain Fleet, managed to slip into the Atlantic and began a month long battle of many fights that results in the Home Fleet, being battered to a mere 8 ships from the 22 it had set out with.

However this final attempt was at last defeated, and the Americans fell back onto their old strategy of small cruiser fleets.

As British troops marched into Richmond, the American Government offered a peace that gave the British nothing of what they wanted.

British troops pushed all 7 remaining US divisions into a pocket that stretched from Philidelphia to Dover. The pocket continued to shrink until the remnants were pushed into Dover, and at last destroyed. Leaving no American troops in the North East or in the South. British troops marched deeper and deeper as a French and New Zealand Expeditionary Force landed on the West Coast and began craving up vast tracks of land.

This time a British Deligation was sent speak with the Americans and offer a Peace to a hopeless cause.

The Americans were forced to accept, they swore vengeance but the aceded to the British demands. Almost the entire North East was ceded and part of the Mason Dixon line, save for some Autonomous Provinces on the coast and deep in central maine. No American troops would be allowed to tread there.

In the West the French received vast tracks of largely useless land save for the valuable port of San Francisco.

New Zealand received a small provence as a port in Washington, and the British landed Marines in New Orleans to officialy take over as per to the negotiations.

As the ceisefire came into effect 2 divisions were recalled to London.

The UK now had an extremely experiance army and an industrial capacity that it had never dreamed of.

Germany was ever a target, but it would have to wait for at least a few months as the cost of the conflict came into full perspective.

Over 26,000 British Soldiers died combined from Land, Sea, and Air Services. Many of the casualties were inflicted in the final assault on New York and Dover.

In America the loss was even heavier with over 4,000 men lost in the battles in fridged Canada, and over 42,000 men lost in the battles to hold the line in the North East. Most of the losses came later in the war with America already unprepared for a major conflict was forced to throw in raw reserves into the fight spending the last of it's strength.
At sea, over 11,000 Sailors were killed from the combined battles in which the American Fleets were decimated, over 80 Major Ships were lost.

France had fought only one real fight at their after they landed in San Diego, when the encountered the 7th Infantry Division and sustained 300 losses with 983 wounded and pushed the Americans back.

New Zealand lost over 400 men in hundreds of Skirmishes on the border.

Canada had fought valiantly on every front, though in many cases without much success. They bore the heaviest war burden on the Allied Side, with 18,000 dead from battles ranging to the Defense of Ottawa to the assault on Detroit.

As the dust settled, America was a disarmed Nation, it's islands were mostly handed over to the Allies, and it's industry was cut out from under it. Thousands of Allied troops were scattered across the continent as they prepared for the enivtable war with Germany.

They intended to strike the first blow if possible...

Thanks for the responces! This is what will keep me going the most if you keep responding!

 grrrr. you'll be sorry once the us joins the axis and attacks you with 100+ divisions. muhahahahahahaha

Hehe, not If I can keep them under my boot and disarmed!

Operation First Strike

Europe had been astounded at the war in America, the speed in which British Ships had set to sea, and the speed in which British troops were deployed to the battlefield.

The UK found itself in a much more authoritative role as they exited the war period. As it's troops were easily the most experianced in the world, including the Elite Army the Aldershot Command, renamed the American Colonial Army.

Soon troops were being shuffled back to Britian, and then shuffled across the channel. Garrison troops were left behind in America, as the Atlantic Fleet, The Mediterranian, and what was left of the Home Fleet set sail for Europe.

France had begun moving vast amounts of troops to it's borders for what was seen as the inevitable confrintation with Germany.

In secret talks the Allies had become determined to strike the first blow and end any German Ambitions.

As the talks ended, all 10 divisions from America were redeployed to France, and more troops were being brought to Britian to prepare for the strike that would cut the legs out from under the German War Machine.

As Britian prepared to flex it's new industrial muscles and trained army. France waited with trepidation as it's manhood was being assembeled for battle.

The Operation would be called Operation First Strike, with push along the Maginot Front, and landings of British troops at the German North Sea Ports, with Naval Interdiction to destroy the German Fleets.

War was in the air once again.

Realism be damned! Nip Germany in the bud! :nods:

Operation First Strike

The Sun rose over Europe, and even as it did the first parts of the BEF set out from Plymouth. Landing in France, the moved to the French-German Border, right alongside the Maginot Line troops.

The next day the operation began.

British and French Fleets set to sea on the German Atlantic Coastline. The German Fleets attempted to break out quickly before Allied vessels could trap them, they were too late. The Atlantic Fleet and Mediterranian fleet cornered the German Ships as they left harbor and in a series of naval battles decimated them. The German ships that remained fled to the harbor.

But this brought along other problams. As the planned invasion of the German coastline was prepared, the German Ships proved meddlesome as they harried the attempted invasion, and more German troops arrived on the coast.

Invasion was not feasible at the moment, but they looked ever to the possibility of the Baltic.

Instead the troops were landed in France and sent to join the British Army in place there, as armies were slogging it out against one another.

To break the stalemate, plans were being made for a sharp invasion of the Baltic, and a thrust towards Berlin. Which would draw off German troops and allow the Maginot front to smash forward.

Armored Divisions were being prepared with all haste, as more German troops formed on the border, and neither side seemed able to break the line.

The new industrial capacity from the American Factories was amazing, with entire divisions being churned out at a vast speed. American factory workers occasionally felt the need to put their handiwork on the weapons that were going out to fight the Nazi's. So very often British Tanks had the words Made in the USA inscribed somewhere on the armor.

Research was continuing at extreme haste as grants were being thrown all over, teams scrambled for coveted government grants resulting in a boom of Research.

What ever was decided, the people of the brave isle knew, that the Germans would fall, and Britian would remain unbowed.

Thanks again for responding to my posts. Please feel free to critique it!

As for realism... well I try to reason most of the things I do. But with this kind of scenerio it is hard.

Also this is a no cheat AAR, save for the Freedom Cheat which I have to use time and time again to make the scenario ideas possible.

But invading through France will give Germany to France...

You must make a landing at Rostock (Is it Rostock? I forget) and take all of Germany for yourself!

Yeah having a problam with that, I landed some troops at Rostock, but then Germany took Copenhagen penning up my entire fleet and my troops. I seize Kiel, and then I moved south into Wolfensburg, kept moving south ang some of my units got attacked and severed. I broke the stalemate at Maginot, but I lost 5 divisions in central germany as well as Rostock.

I think after the war ends I may have to use "acceptall" to draw up post war borders.

You must go to war with Italy and make Ethiopia your permanent colony! :D

*this remark is obviously aimed at anonymous4401*

War and Peace

The Operation had gone horribly wrong in at almost every point, only the staunch fighting skills of the British Troops staved off total failure.

As planned British Troops had deployed to the German Border and British ships sent to the North Sea. The attempted landing failed leaving many dead as German Ships raked fire into the transports.

On land the attempt to move over the border failed, but German attacks also fell into nothing.

However Denmark rallied by Allied initiative declared war on Germany, opening up a 2nd front. Almost at once British Divisions began landing, and made a stunning assault at Kiel.

However as Britishtroops landed at Wolfsburg, so did German troops move quietly from Lubeck, and landed in Copenhagen. Danish troops fought tooth and nail every step of the way shocking their German foes. At one point a German tank battalion was forced to deploy into the center of the city, as Danish resistance refused to give in. 2,100 German troops were killed, more than 3,200 Danish troops died. The German Divisions were immobelized by the extreme loss but were still able to shut the Baltic Straights trapping the English Fleets in the Baltic as well as the landings at Rostock.

The BEF getting word of what had happened realized they had to get to friendly lines or face destruction. They made a move that would be remembered through out military history. The 11 Divisions of the BEF formed up and moved south towards France! Their goal was to evade or fight the German troops all the way to the French Border on the Maginot Line. High Command upon hearing of the desperate plan were in despire the BEF was going to be annihilated!

The troops moved swiftly south to Wolfsburg, and the after German troops closed in an a now empty Rostock they moved farther South, after driving a shocked German Division in Leipzeg. Their supply line was then severed as German troops captured Rostock. Mechanized troops were heading towards Wolfsburg. They were gaining on the BEF.

The troops then with a desperate attempt slammed into Schweifert driving back all 3 German Divisions.

This was when tradgedy struck, the troops who had been in the heaviest fighting were exhausted from the battle. They moved very slow and were overun as they marched towards Schweifert. Three divisions were trapped and ouverun by the German Army after the battle.

German High Command however was furious, the BEF was cutting a swathe from Northern Germany all the way to it's uttermost south, and had still not been contained after defeating 5 divisions!

British Troops looked upon the last leg of resistance as they saw it, at Frankfurt German Divisions were reforming after a British and French assault had pushed them out of Stuttgart.

Upon hearing that the BEF was not lost in Central Germany as previously thought, the French and British troops threw themselves at Frankfurt to aid their allies on the other side.

As the BEF assailed Frankfurt from the North, British Troops and the French Army assailed it from the South at last breaking the resistance.

But their was still a final tradgedy to be played out.

The tired hungry BEF trudged towards Frankfurt, the 2nd Highland Division was collapsing as they marched with no strength left in the fight. The unit formations dissolved as they went helter skelter towards French and British lines at Frankfurt. German troops moved into Scheiwfurt overunning them and capturing or destroying the entire 2nd Highland Divisions and what as left of the ruined 7th Infantry Divisions.

At last the Exhausted troops of the BEF collpased inside Frankfurt as French and British troops rushed forward to bring them supplies.

The News was heard around the world, the BEF had managed to dodge and escape the entire German Army on the several hundred mile long journey from Rostock to Frankfurt.

But the loss of 5 divisions was a sore blow, and an hour of silence was observed in the UK, as they remembered their fallen soldiers.

Germany was nearly shattered as French troops moved into the positions that the BEF had overun in it's long trek.

Germany was on the brink of destruction as fresh troops moved in, including the first American Division recruited from the Colonies. The 1st American Division was the spearhead for the assault on the Munich pocket, the push into Nuremburg and Regenburg sealed the German troops inside the pocket, a quick French Strike pushed into Stuttgart which had been seized in a fast attack by German troops in Freiburg.

The British Army moved swiftly south into a lightly defended munich. They then swung aroung and slammed with extreme force into Friedrick. However heavy German Artillary bombardment and swift reinforcements gave the Germans their final victory of the Front.

The next day, they fought hard but out of ammunition and supplies were overwhelmed by British troops from Munich and French Troops at Freiburg.

Attentionw as turned North as The Netherlands lashed out and seized Arnhem, Dortmund, and Munster. British troops reacting to the allied advance moved to support French attacks onto the Atlantic Coastal Areas held by Germany. In quick succesion they were defeated with little loss. THe war at last turned east as a wall of Allied troops slammed headfirst into the German defenses.

With surprising ease little resistance was met until they arrived at the Berlin-Cottibus defensive line which repelled their attacks for three days. But under increased pressure the German defenders were overwhelmed and the line at Cottibus was broken. Berlin still held with 8 divisions packed into the City.

Kustrin and Straulsand were the only areas that still connected to Berline and were in German hands. But after driving back the Royal Calvery Corps at Strausland they were not ready to endure a 2nd attack but the 4th BEF corps that had moved from Kiel. After 2 days of fighting they shattered and fell back into Stettin.

Hitler was in a state of shock, but was slowly being roused, and was searching desperatly for a way to escape the city. The citizens of Berlin heard allied guns to the South, North, and West. What they feared most was when those guns would be heard from the East. Citizens were fleeing from Berlin against Hitlers direct Army orders, and were escaping to Kustrin. The Army was not eager to give into Hitlers orders, they had no reason to. He had given them no victories and his plans had lead to Germany's Second Ruin. But the troops were determined to give a final defence of the city.

The 4th BEF Corps moved against Stettin with support from the Royal Calvery Corps, and the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Tactical Air Wings. The German troops were utterly destroyed, and Stettin fell.

To the South French Troops mixed with the American 1st, 2nd, and 6th Colonial Armies slammed into Kustrin and Oppelin. The German defenders were overwhelmed after several days fighting. Leaving Berlin encircled for the final attack.

Berlin had gather another 6 divisions from various retreats and was drawing on vast military stockpiles in the city.

So as 14 divisions prepared to resist more than 27 Allied Divisions, a vast artillary barraged of Aircraft began.

After two days the Allies moved against the city, the fighting lasted for two days as they at last moved on the Chancellory.

Hitler, however was not at the Chancellory, but was attempting to make it out of the city and was caught as he reached the Tiergarden. French and British troops enraged at having seen the man who had forced them to lose so many friends gunned him down. Hanging his corpse from a lamppost the Allied troops raided the cities store of Alchohal and celebrated in the streets. To overcome by the euphoria of victory to notice the many thousands of dead in the city streets and country side.

Indeed Germany was defeated and now the time to decide post war Borders came into play.

Negotiations went very smoothly surprisingly.

The Netherlands had fought hard and was allowed to keep all the land it had gained, Denmark received Kiel as British troops left the occupied zone their.

France who had borne the brunt in Central Germany and the South gained nearly all of Central and Southern Germany.

The UK who's troops had been in every theatre received almost all of Germany's Coastal regions and Germany's Eastern lands. And the biggest prize of all Berlin.

The Allied Germanic War as it was being called was costly beyong imagenation.

Over 501,000 Allied troops had been killed. With France and The UK bearing the brunt at nearly 428,567 combat deaths.

Germany had spent her sons in barely a year, with over 700,000 dead from Kustrin to Stuttgart.

America had spilled it's blood as well with the 1st and 2nd Royal American Divisions losing more than 4,324 men combined in the Munich and Eastern Theatres.

The dust had settled and England was exhausted from war, it's territory in America was enormous to say the least and it's new territory would take some time to make effective.

The UK had an open road before them. The great enemy Nazi Germany had been cast down, other enemies still loomed in the distance. The USSR still loomed ever present, though buffered by Poland. And in the far East new competitors for dominance were arising from China to Japan.

South America was a field of conflict amongst one another and always turbulant making trade difficult. Colonisation was always though of there.

In the Middle East the oil nations still loomed.

And still in Europe many nations were still opposed some blatant enemies of the Allies.

The next few years would not be quiet ones to say the least.

Please continue to respond and post opinions!

Too bad about those 5 divisions. But it was a worthy price to pay for Berlin! Though if you had managed to get Essen as well, that would have been awesome.

Anyways, go for the oil! You can never go wrong with the oil. Also opens up a front in the Caucuses for you to exploit when you eventually go to war with the commies. :nods:

Thanks, I think I'm going to take out Persia for the oil.

Then an invasion of Siam for to destory any potential attacks after Japan goes to war.

Then a possible Colonisation probe in South America, maybe to Venezualas rich oil fields.

The US cant really do anything about it anyways.

I might have to take away America's Pacafic Colonies, or maybe draw them into the Allies?

Everyone I'm leaving my next move up to you!

Tell me what my next plan should be, IE what I should aim to do. I'll pick the one I think is best.

Right now I'm building an Armada to rebuild my shattered Home, Atlantic, and Mediterranian Fleets.

It's 1938, Germany is defeated the Allies are the strongest power on the planet.

Make a move gentlemen.

Why paint the world British pink ofcourse!! :D

I think a move against Persia to link India to the Suez!!

Sir Clive.

Indeed. A land link from British Germany to British Hong Kong would be most desirable. :nods:

take persia, siam, hawaii and us pacific possessions, then invade mexico, venezuela, columbia panama canal and peru. Then you have a bunch of land all around the world

Allright, i've gleaned your suggestions and this is what my plan of action will be.

First I'm going to move my Indian Colonial Troops into Siam, then I'm going to send some of my troops in Germany to Iraq, and my Colonial troops to the Persian Border. After I smash Persia, I'm going to force the United States to give up every single one of it's Pacific Possesions.

Since Washington is surrounded by British territory, and the AI has placed all it's divisions inside Washington all I need to do is move my troops to areas surrounding Washington, Declare War and destroy them and take what I want. I think I may want the rest of the coast that I have yet to take.

I'll make it an official update after everything is complete.
