I must be missing something really simple...

My first game - I'm playing Russia in the GC (not the IGC) and I have two problems:

1) I do not have the option to send colonists. I right-click on a colony to get the popup menu, but "Send Colonist" is not in the list. How can I enable it?

2) I cannot explore Terra Incognita. A message comes up and tells me that the army won't go there without a conquistador. How do I get a conquistador?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

1. Hmmm, you have enough money to send one, do you have population below 5000, do you have wanted colony next to another colony/city? Take a look at colonizing screen and look there. My best guess is that you're out of money.

2. Conquistadors come when they did historically. Russia gets first ones in about 1550, so you have to wait until then. Good time to conquer all Khanates...
Also, there is a chance that you will recive random conquistador/explorer, but that's rare.

hehe that was simple
As hjarg said, you need to have a city next to the province if you wish to build a colony (if it is not by the coast), a tp or larger to build a tp.

Not in Siberia, which is where he's almost certainly going as Russia. All that's required is that you have some description of settlement in an adjacent province.
