Colonization Confusion.....

I am confused on how to colonize, I have all technology... and I have enough resources and an open port to send to Africa, but still it says that my colonization attempt is "impossible" my LR in Poland is 35 and I dont know how to see what it is in the colonies I want... Please Help

If it is saying you can't colonize because of the province's life rating, then you need a few more techs that lower your minimum life rating for colonization... one such tech is Machine Guns, another is an invention that fires from Medicine.

If the problem is having a naval base, then you need to keep developing railroad techs and keep upgrading your naval bases so you have a higher naval range.

Do you have access to the province you want to colonize, meaning a string of owned provinces from the coast to the province in question?

Edit: Another possibility is that you are trying to colonize in more than 4 colonies at once...

Danzig is Danzig so its open it is a coastal province, and the province I want to colonise is a coastal province... the only other issue now is that the game is crashing so I cannot play it. Would one of you guys mind like looking at it and fixing the errors? I wanna keep playing.

Edit: The African colonies I want is the nation of Mauritania (the coastal province to start, it has 4 provinces Mauritania does)

Ok, zip or rar the latest working save and upload it to some file-sharing site, then post the link here. I'll try to take a look at it later today if no one else does.

It's not so much the work I need... I'd quit in a jiffy if someone would pay me to do bugger all.


I tried to load the save, but I got a number of error messages and then the game crashed. Not much I can do, I'm afraid.
You don't have an earlier save you could go back to, this one seems corrupted?

Did someone else already have a claim in the same region/state? As far as I know if someone with higher prestige than you already built a colonial building in a state, you can't build another in a different province of the same state.
