It's probably a dlc (though you could count it as an expansion pack, comparable to Sword of Islam for ck2). I just hope they won't wait to long before releasing it :(

The whole poem should be something like this:

"It's an omen,
the end is nigh.
Ignore the peasant rabble
stop looking at the sky!
What can we do?
I just give up.
There´s no escape;
Johan´s comet will screw you up!"

Borrowed the "I give up" line from adijarca.

May I suggest...bazinga! :D

I think that comet sighted event should be fixed in EU4. In EU3 it appears at random times even when no comets should be visible. It shouldn't be too difficult to create a proper celestial model so that the comets are sighted only when they are near the earth. It's one thing to have what-if scenarios in human history, but comet trajectories need to be historically accurate :)

But then it will be bad for replayability, for you'll know at each specific date the comets are sighted. While currently, it can pop up anytime, like in the middle of a massive war and revolts, screwing you a little bit more up.

Agreed. We now know all that comets (especially Halley which played such an important role in history) appear periodically (although the period can be very long). For us we would be able to predict when it would come. Back in those days, few people knew that (if at all), so it would always be a surprise. We have to prevent "meta-gaming" and make it random. (also, there are more comets than just Halley, and it could well be we have another bright comet at another time, and even Halley himself was not always bright enough to really stand out).

Who knows, maybe each game of EU takes place in a different parallel universe where long-period comets appear at different times than otl :D

sandbox universe FTW. actually the Earth should be randomly flat sometimes and your explorers should be eaten by evil monsters when trying to find America :D

My understanding is that all events that exist in DW will be in EU4 unless one has to be removed for some reason. Im sure theyll review and rebalance their effects though.

Don't rule out the butterfly effect!

A comet has been sighted was a theme for EUIII. This is EUIV. It must be upgraded to a meteor has been sighted.

+1!

And there should be an option "I wished it was only a comet" with -1 stab.

Asteroid sighted
Action_A: Run for the hills! (Effect: Game Over)
Action_B: Darn. And I just shaved. (Effect: Game Over)
Action_C: That's just a comet. (Effect: 50% Game Over, 50% -1 stab)

In Eu3 it was just a humorous event that had little effect on a gameplay, so whether it's predictable or not wouldn't make much difference. Of course, if it's changed in EU4 to do something more major that will be a different story.
