Has anybody tried running 1.04 save games in the NA 1.05? Are they compatible? I ask because I'm trying to decide whether I should download 1.05 now or let my father finish his current 1.04 game first.

1.05 works for games started in 1.04, but you will not be able to play a game started in 1.05 in 1.04 mode (probably not much of an issue with you).

I tried loading my 1.04 Savoy game under 1.05. It loaded all right, but the screen had several graphic anomalies, and was next no unplayable. That was my first experiment with 1.05. Now, my game seems to CTD every 10 minutes. :( I don't know if this is because I tried loading 1.04 game in 1.05, but I'm going to try a clean install and patch up and see what that does for me.

Did you install 1.05 on top of 1.04? may be that is the problem. Here is what I do with every patch, I remove my saved games to another folder on the machine, then uninstall EUII, reinstall EUII, apply the new patch, and EEP, then run once as any country save, exit. Now I copy may previous saved files into the save directory. Run the saved game... save again anew, exit the game.
and play the newest saved... This should reduce any potential problems later on by a great deal...

I had a similar problem to Baron Jukaga's. I tried playing an old game, and it froze up. I then tried starting a new 1.05 game, but that quickly froze up too. I did install 1.05 right over 1.04, so now I am uninstalling everthing nd starting from scratch.

edit: I really should start checking my spelling before I click sumbit ;)

Putting 1.05 on a clean install didn't help at all, my games still freeze after a few minutes. Anybody know why this might happen? I'm starting to think I might have to stick to just using 1.04:(

BTW, now that I'm asking these questions maybe this thread should be moved to the support forum
