a few people had the idea to try to collect all the wishes and suggestions into an organized list and I decided to try it. I hope you support this endeavor and reply with your suggestions and wishes.

Let's try to agree on a few rules:
- Please only post your suggestion in this thread, I think we should keep this thread clean and move the discussion about the suggestions to their respective threads.
- If your suggestion has it's own discussion already, post the link and I will add it to the list.
- Please try to sort your suggestion into one of the existing categories or suggest a new category for the list.
- I would like suggestions about the best way to permanently collect support for the various suggestions and wishes.

First I have to say the game so far looks amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

That being said, my biggest peeve with what I've seen so far is the lack of coastal stuff. By that I mean boardwalks, docks, even more complex seaports. A lot of this could be sectional with different pieces to place side by side. Some of it can act as parks and decoration such as the boardwalk pieces. It would really make the shores look much nicer. I'm not too keen on seeing cliffs everywhere.

About water infrastructures, an intermediate solution between dropping sewage from the shores and water treatment could be to drop sewage in deep waters, far away from the shores.

In real life, that's the usual way to minimize pollution in many areas in which a water treatement facility cannot be built (either because of topography or a lack of funding capability).

Great thread! From another thread what we talked is here:

The tool to create architectural styles would be cool, and district "architectural style" policies also. Since I'm always creating "the old town district" first in all my cities, then the XIX-century districts around them, then modern architecture districts at the end, with those tools it would be a lot easier :)

Definately one of the highest things on my wishlist too with R+C functional mixed zoning. From RCI demands perspective, half of the building can stay empty if it means we get to wait until demand is high enough for both to make them fullly occupied. Not seems as a problem to me.

Large selection of area fillers which fills an empty area between buildings and roads (just like CXL) would be great for aestethics. Pedestrian paths with parks, commercial&residental zones, bike lines would be awesome!

Plus I'd be happy with more meaningful production chains which produces goods with other different effects on the city. Car assembling would be awesome for providing cheaper cars to poorer folks.

Car parking system can be overhauled alongside with more traffic controlling option.

Modders could definitely look into making a new airport and we might as well, if it seems to be something people are looking forward to. And thanks!

First Question and answer

First question. Rivers in this game are really awesome but to give a more realistic urban feel to our cities I think that it absolutely need various type of sea walls (classic, modern, industrial, dock like, suburban, etc..). as Sea walls (but that's just my example) are not only buildings but interact with the complex water dynamics in the game will the players be able to make them via modding tool?
1. I agree. We don't have these yet and therefore there's no modding support for that either, but this is definitely high on our wishlist.
 
On the subject of transportation, road types, merging lanes and so on.
There have been some people, including me, suggesting a lane-based approach to transportation networks. I've included a small explanation of it on the thread about improved roundabouts, cul-de-sacs, etc.

Hi Hiramas. First, thanks for this thread and for the work to keep it up to date.

I missed two important requests/suggestions in the above list:

1) larger (and more realistic) farms, with farm fields not limited in size or shape. Some discussion in this regard can be found http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?819727-I-want-NATURAL-and-BIG-FARMS and also http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?809726-Farms-amp-Fields.

2) regional play (which is a way around the limitations on map size). The user can have several cities/maps and they all can exchange/trade jobs, workers, goods, water, energy, garbage, etc with each other. The user can also switch from one of his/her city to another one with a key stroke in a matter of seconds. This allows recreation of large metropolitan areas split into a number of neighboring city maps. Cities XXL has this feature, which makes it the modern city builiding game closest to SC4. Implementing regional play is computationally simple and does no pressure on memory or CPU processing time. Suggestions (so far):

1) Landfills should automatically return to Filling mode when they are finished emptying (it's enough of an attention tax to click to empty them)
2) The placement box for the Park with Trees seems really buggy, like it won't place in many places where it should be able to place and it doesn't edge snap as nicely as the other parks.
3) the passenger counter when clicking on metro stops seems to be broken; it will randomly read 0 and then 100+ on two different nearly consecutive clicks. Don't know if fixable, but it is annoying
