my computer keeps shutting down completely when ever i launch stellaris, i can get the launcher up, but as soon as i click play and let it load, after a few minutes it just shuts down my entire system and i have to reboot it back up
sorry i have appeared to have given the wrong fileshere is the files you have requested
Is there anything else I can help with figuring this out?Right click on stellaris.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, then cap the refresh rate at 60.
If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .
when i first downloaded this game it was not givng me any issues, and it only started a week ago, i would just boot it up from the application from steam and at a random time either loading or in game i just shut off, it was random, and i just tried to launch the .exe version and it did the same, im looking at the event viewer now, do you want some of the files or logs?No obvious cause in those files. There isn't even a game crash or system reboot recorded in dxdiag, so this is very likely due to something outside the game.
Make sure you unload GeForce Experience before starting the game.
Has it always been the case with this game, or it was okay up to some point?
If you run stellaris.exe directly from File Explorer does the same thing happen?
If you have any of our similar games CK2, EU4 or HOI4, does it happen with them too? If you have none of those CK2 is free to play on Steam now.
Just after the next such reboot, check the Windows Event viewer. Is there any ERROR or WARNING just before the reboot, recorded in there?
That might coincide with the latest game update. If you revert to 3.6.1 in the Steam betas tab for this game, does it still happen?it only started a week ago,
If there are relevant entries in the few seconds leading up to the reboot, yes. IIRC you can export selected entries to a text or other file.im looking at the event viewer now, do you want some of the files or logs?
i finally figured out the issue to what was causing the problem, it was overclocking my ram and the fact some of the ram was damaged or too oldThat might coincide with the latest game update. If you revert to 3.6.1 in the Steam betas tab for this game, does it still happen?
