of course some vowels have to be rearranged like I switched the A and the N an the S and the T

Well considering that there are around 1000 systems on the map, I hardly doubt anyone will notice those measly 87 SW names, and we do need as much *different* names as possible, you can't have a galaxy filled with latin naming :D

Well you know this mod doesn't have to be all pure fantasy, we can also build some Star Wars/Trek scenarios, I think a lot of people would like to crush the Rebellion, or fight the Romulans besides some completely imaginary universe...

Just my two cents...
 
Names are names... and we are up to 341!

Make sure you read other people's lists, because I feel like one of those proof-reading enzymes...

I've noticed a few (maybe two or three repeats, so getting the common ones out of the way now is good... so far:
Cronus, Tatoonine, Courisant and Dune....

How are we going to name the 1020 provences used to make the space in between? :wacko: We should set up a thread just for the names... and people could suggest and see the current names... but 370 in a single day is not bad...

Well, maybe, system name + Sector, something like this: Terran Sector, or Tau Ceti Sector, it would make our job a hell lot easier...

Including these and subtracting the repeats we are at 381...

you probably missed some repeats, like my Sirius A/B and Lord Boreal's Sirius ;)

hopefully new ones:

copied these, so there's bound to be some doubles with that real names list of Lord Boreal, as it's a list of named stars. Tried to eliminate those though

Okay.... Gaia and Aurora are repeats... there might be more...

We need to start coloecting them all in a single place...

and of course:

For the "sea" provinces we could have some numbering system, eg. AA-10, AA-11, AA-12, AB-10, AB-11, AB-12 and so on.

Most of mine are anagrams of objects on my desk, like "peanuts" and "keyboard" They're easy to make up, so we'll be done in no time, methinks.
