I am a bit lost about the Version identifiers on multiplayer. For example, next to Doomsday 1.1 for me it says (YIKS), and for my friend it said (STGS) but after telling him the few edits i made it said (VTGS) or something. What do each of these mean? How can I tell what we need to change to have the same "version"? And do custom GFX effect anything? All I remember changing was the air unit exp gain rate, the spanish civil war AI, and adding a bunch of graphics. Could someone explain?

The checksum is an anti-cheating measure, to make sure everyone has the same version. A value is calculated based upon the contents of most game files to ensure people have the same version. Otherwise one player might change their wn manpower growh to double normal for instance.

That will change the checksum- changing any value in misc.txt changes the checksum. As does hacking the .exe file, changing the costs of units etc. Graphics and other stuff generally don't, unless you have one that changes provinces.csv or country.csv.

Alright, thanks. I was able to pin down the files I changed and tell my friends, so now we have the same version.
