I am sorry but it is not possible for disk owners to get the remastered edition free. If they buy the remastered base game, their DLCs ought to come across remastered though.

Not so much 'forgot' but the issues with Xbox owners getting the remastered base game but not all DLCs do centre around those DLCs being part of the many and various bundles offered over the years. Paradox and MS are working their way through the issues every day.

We cannot promise an ETA at this point, but it WILL be fixed as soon as possible!
Can you at least explain WHY owners of the physical copy on both PS5 and Series X can't get the free upgrade while EVERY other game in existence with a free upgrade to curent gen can???
We paid a lot of money for your game and the fact we get excluded without any explanation is extremely absurd and consumer unfriendly.
I can understand that PS plus will not get the free upgrade but why are A LOT of people who bought and paid for their game on disc getting excluded??

Please explain.
Thats the least you guys can do.

Awesome, Thanks! I also have a lot of bundles on XBOX so none of my DLCs show up for the remastered.

My understanding now is that it is not technically possible. That said I'm not in the dev or marketing loop for this game, it's just what I've heard internally.

There's another issue, which is that players could just lend their DVD copy of Cities to a friend > have them install it > claim the remastered version effectively giving them a game for free despite never owning it.

Would it be possible that someone could make a statement about the DLC issues?

Currently the Facebook console community is a just a mess of confusion as to why people can’t download the DLC they own.

Just a quick question did they fix any of the DLC. I know it’s free but it’ll say buy. Just wondering if they fixed it thanks.
They are still working with Microsoft to fix this. Apparently it's more the core issue is more complicated than they first thought so there's no ETA on when it will be fixed. Just know that it is their highest priority to have it resolved as soon as possible.

Got it hopefully they’ll fix it by the time I get home on Monday afternoon do we think that’s the case or later?

No change until last night! On January 7, 2018, I digitally purchased Cities Skylines Premium Edition from the Xbox Store (order number: 6951499449). I've bought all the DLC since then. Mark the Remastered version as still available for purchase! I want to play now!!!!!

I'm starting to lose my patience!

Imagine turning a free update that's supposed to get people excited and fumbling it this hard you've got ps plus people angry you've got disc owners angry and anyone who purchased a bundle on xbox annoyed. Imagine not understanding how 1 of only the 2 stores your releasing it on works absolutely laughable

Had a similar issue with Stellaris bundles. You didn't own the dlc on release if you bought the bundle a few months earlier.

I hope it can be fixed soon.

Do I have to start a new city or can I just continue with the new features unlocked?

Hi. Will we get mods back on remastered? They were only new cars and buildings but that's better than no extra content at all.

Real mods like in Skyrim and Fallout would be nice. :D

(but why did new house or car models that didn't have extra values and replaced standard buildings disable achievenents?)

Microsoft store has updated for me. I am now able to download all the missing dlc linked to the season passes

Thanks for your work on this guys, super keen to get into it over the weekend

You beat me to the punch :p!
MS has confirmed that the issue should now be solved. You will still have to go in to the DLC store page but now it should say "install" instead of the price. The price will always show first until you click on it - according to MS this is expected and the way it works.

If you're still experiencing issues with DLC not unlocking please let us know and specify which DLC is affected.

Awesome work and great to have it resolved!

not wanting to be ungrateful tho for the free upgrade (25 tiles Is what i’m here for!) but is there an ETA to bring the base game up to the latest version, so we’ve got the added roads that came in the last free update? I’m not meaning the post-airports DLCs (although, eta on those would be ace!), but just getting the basics aligned so that the remaster doesn’t feel as much like a downgrade

either way, great work. thre’s a lot of negativity but let’s face it you didn’t *have* to do this

Wow can't believe how poorly this launch was done. Its almost as if its been done by an indie company not an actually game developer. Boggles the mind o_O

Seems this was no where near ready for release. Why announce and then release it a week later when it clearly wasn't ready. Its telling that someone who has worked with Paradox Move the Mouse has said that remastered wasn't ready.

Its very very poor and dishonest if you're expecting people to buy the base game again despite buying the disc copy when it was stated the update was free if you own the base game. Seems to me there are plenty of work arounds to the whole 'other people could use the disk to down load the game for free' BS excuse. Can anyone clarify if this is being worked on? Currently would hopefully indicate that its being worked on?

If there was a minimal 5$-10$ upgrade charge for both digital and disc versions then it would be more understandable but to expect disc owners to pay and not digital owners isn't right. Ive paid over £90 for the game and DLCs that I have, another 32.99 on top of that is a kick in teeth when someone could of brought the game for £6.99 in January and get the Remastered upgrade for free
