Hi All,

I'm experiencing constant, random crashes while playing. Lately, it seems to be within the first few minutes of the game. Sometimes it crashes to desktop, sometimes it restarts my computer, and sometimes it hard crashes my computer and everything freezes. This game is the only one that causes this behavior.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated. I'm willing to try anything.

I'm running on Windows 10, using a GTX 1070.

Crashing the computer is a bad sign; often a driver, hardware or overheating problem.

Please attach here the game log C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\debug.txt
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

AND DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Andrew, a HUGE thank you for your reply. I've attached the requested files.

CPU temp before playing = 25 C
CPU temp after 15 min = 37 C

They are fine. And the GPU temps? Especially because the crash in that dxdiag is in the nVidia driver:
Windows Error Reporting:
+++ WER0 +++:
Fault bucket 1615029412669204024, type 4
Event Name: APPCRASH
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: Prison Architect64.exe
P2: 0.0.0.0
P3: 5f3fbdb6
P4: nvoglv64.dll

Please try this:

- uninstall the existing nVidia driver, and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest one (Dec 2020) from here:
- reboot again

I hope that does it for you! Because if not, it may well be a hardware problem.
