Hi, I've been facing constant crashes whenever trying to play and cannot seem to figure what exactly the issue is. My best guess is memory/ram issue. Game shows to be using as much as 10gb ram even though recommended spec game is 8gb. Current PC spec is i3 10100, 750ti, 16gb ram. I've never had this problem before, only in the past week. Managed to rack up 894 hours played shown in steam. I have attached all files in the "crashes" folder under documents.

Please someone help me figure out how I can resolve this. I've also tried completely redownloading and reinstalling the game, thinking that an update might've went wrong. Deleted game from steam and deleted paradox folder in document. Still same issue.

Let me know if any other clarification is needed. Thanks

hmmm...no replies yet. But anyways, update on my current status. Managed to get the game to run....temporarily. Changed graphics to Low. Then restarted the game since there was a remark that some change required restart. Then I reenabled the animated characters, otherwise everyone would have white eyes as if they were blind.

Started a custom character in 867. Managed to played till 872 for about 20 minutes or so. And... it crashed again.

The exceptions log shows the crash is entirely in the Nvidia driver. Your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti is a little under the power of the minimum requirement , the Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 660, but I wouldn't have thought that would cause crashes.

Without a dxdiag I don't know what driver version you have, but try a clean reinstall:

- uninstall Nvidia https://developer.nvidia.com/cleanup-tool
- reboot
- install April 2025 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
- reboot again
- if GeForce Experience or the Nvidia app are running now, exit them

As to memory, that is possible: Please expand your Windows paging file maximum size to 32gb
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/openpag...increasing-paging-file-size-windows-computers
AND exit every other app you can before starting the game.

THEN Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.txt

Good luck!

Thank you Andrew. You're a godsend. Turns out was a GPU driver problem after all. Uninstalled and reinstalled driver and voila, CK3 works again. BTW Game no longer uses 10gb of ram, instead hovers around 4gb. No crashes after playing 2 hours so far. Thank you for the help.
