Constant CtD January 7-12 1068 (1.05 patch)

Installed latest patch (1.05), changes from vanilla CK are only graphical (CoA, shields, facemod).

I am playing as the Prince of Kiev in the 1066 scenario and the game always crashes to desktop around 7-12 January 1068. happens everytime I load the autosave (closest save).

save file deleted.

I purchased CK two days ago through Paradox on demand, installed, and than installed 1.05 patch. I've got constant CTD, too. I didn't manage to catch any rule about crashes, though (sometimes it happens at the beginning, sometimes much later). I always play 1066 scenario as Serbia. Considering that I had clean install, I think it would be silly to reinstall again. Yet, I don't know what to do...

I've got the same problem I also had clean install. Usually after a year or two, the game crashes. Yesterday I began a 1066 scenario with principalty of Alania. I succeeded in playing during 8 years before the crash ended my game. What can we do ?

Zaki, you should contact the On-Demand support. As far as I know, On-Demand uses its own special patches, so it might be buggy if you use regular patch on it, but let it be said that I'm not truly well knowledged with On-Demand, so you will get better results by asking the On-Demand folks.

Just begun a game with Galicia. Now it's 1085 and I haven't got any crash. Everything is ok for me now

I´m a bit confused here.

Did you already re-install CK?

If so, then did you completely remove the earlier one?

Did you already try to redownload the PoD installer?

Hmm, Zaki, did you click Yes when the Installer asked you about overwriting old files? You have 1.05 showing up properly in the top right corner when starting CK, right?

Can you give some information how it crashes? You say sometimes quickly, sometimes later. How long you can run it appropriately in one go? Do you use autosaves? Do you play at high speed with low end machine?

I have 1.05 in the top right corner.

I uninstalled CK completely, (between first installation of CK 1.00 and 1.05 I played maybe for one hour or less) then I reinstalled it, installed 1.05 and started the game. After 30 minutes I decided to start a new game, and as I clicked "surrender" button and confirmed it, game CTD. Then I started it again, played for 3-4 hours (year is 1103), no problem at all.
In previous installation I had often CTD during the game, but I never managed to play that long.

Well, I am playing at high speed (extremely fast), and my machine is:

Intel Pentium 4 1.80 GHz
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Etc
I know it isn't state of the art, but I wouldn't call it low end. (Or maybe I should? I agree that display adapter is the low end, but I don't think that's important for this game.)

I am little worried about that initial CTD after the reinstall, but on the other hand, I'm encouraged with such a long game session after that.

It sounds like that the reinstall fixed it. Generally the surrender screen CTD has been different issue from mid-game CTDs. Let us know if the frequent mid-game CTDs reappear.
