Sorry couldn't see a bug report forum so if this needs to be moved, y'know.

I'm playing as Macedonia and I'm about to take advantage of a Selucid civil war but I can't take them on my own. I've got good terms with Egypt and they accept my offer of an alliance. Shortly after they accept the game crashes. The only thing that seems to make it worse is if I try to move my troops into position ready to attack. Is this a problem with my computer or with the game or both?

I do have problems with this game crashing at other points and I don't have this problem with other games.

sorry I should know about registering by now.

I'm playing vae vicitus 2.32. none of my provinces held by rebels or barbarians. I checked again and realized that allying with Egypt had nothing to do with it.

If a mod sees this pleas move to bug reports

Do you have any "regional" cointry independent? Like Lusitania, Achaia, Asia, etc. Or the civil war rebel countries, check them too:

Check if any of these have "noculture" as their culture (can be their hovering the mouse over the country name in some province of them).

I thought the noculture bug had been fixed with 2.32? At least, I haven't encountered it since then. Still, you can search your savegame for "noculture", which might find something.

Another possibility is that you might have a country called "Barbarians" - it happens when a barbarian horde takes a country, but instead of creating its own country with the name of the barbarian horde, it creates a country with the tag "BAR". It'll look almost black on the campaign map, and you won't have any option for diplomatic missions to the country.

What checksum do you see? It should be on the main game menu, but some folks can only see it by going to start an MP game as host.

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista/Win7 and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista/win7 to a non-system directory, like c:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\, where [name] is your Vista/Win7 user name. You may have to search your C: drive for them.

Rome v2.32c (IYID) I had to go to the multiplayer host as you said. I've never uploaded a save game before and I'm not great at stuff like this so it may take a while, but I gotta learn. Thanks for the help.

They should be in something like

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rome\savegames

So Start at C (or whatever place you installed steam) and try getting there

See this thread http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?488340-General-Not-WAD-Bugs-Crashes-all-that-bad-stuff&p=12289931&viewfull=1#post12289931. I doubt it's Magna Terra's fault as I didn't touch any of those mechanisms, but as I can't be 100% sure I didn't post them.
AFAIK, it is like this
1) The rebel of a regional country gets noculture. When a character of this country is born with noculture, game crashes
2) Noreligion seems to have no problem. I suppose noculture does because the game doesn't know how to portrait the face of the character (no graphic family) so it crashes
3) Maybe the problem exists too in vanilla, but as a regional country is rare, a rebel regional country is even more rare. In Magna Terra there are a lot more opportunities for the problem to arise. The "bad" thing is that I can't be sure it exists in vanilla.
4) I've seen more noculture countries in the savegames people emailed me but IIRC they weren't a rebel faction but the main regional country. Now in MT I have an event to correct all of them (civil war countries get the culture from the war counterpart while non-civil war countries get the culture and religion of their capital).

Also, I've seen the barbarian problem too. I solved it by creating an event that kills the provinces of the BAR country, turning it into an empty province. Kinda like a nuke from orbit solution :)

There's also the red borders/no sea borders but I didn't want to post them here as they are not part of the vanilla game.

Well sadly that all looks fine. Please zip up the affected save game and post on any public file hosting site (eg filedropper, photobucket) and paste a link to it in here. Hopefully some kind soul will look into the file and see if they can see a problem in it.

Ok I'm trying to use 7-zip but I also have winrar installed.

I pick the option compress to "Macedonia crash.7z" and e-mail

Then I go to photobucket and try to upload the file seems to be a .lnk file

Every time I upload there is an error which stops it what am I doing wrong?

Easiest way is to find the savegame file in Windows Explorer, right click it, and under the 7zip submenu click "Add to Archive". In that window, change the name of the file to whatever you want, but keep everything else the same. Click "Ok" and you're done.

I'm pretty sure Photobucket only accepts image or video files, so try something else like Gamefront (I don't think you even need to sign up for it).
