  • Surviving Mars
I am experiencing constant lag, framedrops, low fps when im playing surviving mars :(, this is like from the beginning of when i bought this game! Is there anyone out there who can tell me that they are looking at these problems? The performance is terrible, when i play a new game it seems to work good but when i load a savegame the performance is really bad and unplayable, scrolling left, right up or down is a nightmare, can anyone of the developers tell me if theyre going to fix this, i feel robbed, i looked so forward to buy this game but its not playable, its not!!!! It susrpises me that im reading posts on this forum and it seems like im the only one who is experiencing this? When i play this game on the same computer on Windows 10 it runs good but really on Mac its almost not possible to play :(..im really really dissapointed :(

Please attach here the game logs:
~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/logs/

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I also want to note that when i uninstalled the game and installed it again the ui buttons dissapeared :(, when i go to /library/Application Support/Survi.... there is no Surviving Mars folder?

Thanks for your help

Hi, im not using any mods, in windows everything works good with a good framerate, the savegame wich im loading is only containing 3 domes and im only active in a few spots on the map, are you really telling me that its lagging because of that?

Maybe i can better take a video while playing and then you will see what im trying to say, my system has no resource problem! This game is just lagging on the mac, i cant imagine that im the only one experiencing this, surely the mac version needs a update or something, i dont have problems with other games, with this game if i even put everything on low it still lags in the savegame that im playing can someone explain me how thats possible? If i turn of vsync its still laggy :(!

I play on a iMac 18,3 myself and have no such problem.

But when I look up your iMac 17,1 they are all AMD video models, how is it you have an nVidia 10xx card?

Regardless you might try an updated driver for it

I don't really have any other explanation why the performance is so poor just on your machine.

Best guess is it's a Hackintosh. No official Mac uses an i5-6600K, nor is there official support for any external GPUs outside a few AMD models.

In that case, well... I'm not sure anybody is obligated to provide tech support, since Hackintoshes are in direct violation of Apple's terms of use. Funny enough, those specs are almost identical to my Windows/Linux box.

You should look a little bit closer, it says it has a 6700K and not a i5 ;). Im playing with an EGPU setup, i already regret asking for help! There are also older models of IMAC wich have a NVIDIA card, im playing a lot of games with Mac and also allot of games with wine, and yet only this one lags? Im telling you a new game is going good, but whenever i make a savegame and start it, it lags, wether i put everything on low, even the resolution on lowest, this game is lagging, does that have to do something with my computer, or some bad programming skills? Who am i talking to in this Forum anyway to other users or are there also developers around that want to seriously look into this problem? I bought this game to play, not to see a slideshow, i find this game worthless for me because of the lag its unplayable, maybe i should make a video and i will post it here, look at it and then say if im wright or wrong!
