Hello everyone.

I have been getting multiple cases of Out of Synchs when playing Victoria 3 with friends.
It is always 1 player that has a OOS, and after the first OOS the same player will continue to have OOS after hotjoining, shortly after starting game time.
That makes continuing the savegame with that particular player impossible.

It is always me who hosts the game. Maybe my game install has an issue?

We play with no mods and everyone has the game language on English.

I have attached a .rar file with all of the OOS we have gotten during this month.
Maybe those can help solving the issue.

Regards,
Alpha Strike

It looks like you get multiple different OOS errors, not just one repeatedly. That would typically means a local comms issue, not a game bug.

If you have a VPN, connect via that before you start the game,, which will take any firewalls out of the picture.

Otherwise test with some other player as host (both with you involved and without you involved) - any different?

Yes, we tried hosting the same save game(s) that had the desync issues with another player as host.

So far, it seems to be working. As soon as we get a desync with that host (which doesnt happen too often, but it still does) we switch the host (aka i host again).

Its not really a good long term solution to be honest. It works for now though.

That sounds like one of you two original players has the problem. Were you able to try the VPN test?

Also, it is probably me who causes the issues most frequently. My other friend who takes over as host has OOS way less then when i host.

I own a router that I know has issues with some software like Hamachi or when i play Age of Wonders 3 for example my connection quality is listed as red (bad). I think this is because my router has very strict firewalls. Altough this never has been an issue in other paradox games, like CK 3 or EU 4.

Can you add victoria3.exe to the firewall exceptions lists both in Windows and in your router?
