  • The Showdown Effect
I did do a bit of searching but didn't find much; are there any plans to support Xbox360 controllers for dual-stick action, similar to Hotline Miami? Teleglitch seems eminently suitable for this kind of thing and it'd make it a lot easier to to have a blast in between hacking on my own game on those long train journeys... :)

Not sure if there are any other threads on this subject since this is my first visit after having bought the game but while it is at the top of the pile, I will add a big +1 to the yespleasenicelythankyou collection.

It's on the roadmap - but no guarantees.

doing it poorly is easy. But we much rather prefer to do it really well.

I haven't used much game controllers, How you imagine to use controller levers to aim down sight? Can you move corsair with controller as good as with mouse?

The basic idea would be to use the left stick for movement, the right stick for aiming your weapon and then shoulder / face buttons for firing weapons and inventory management.

It would work really well for this game!

The idea of using a gamepad to play the game is the classic "twin stick" style approach to top down shooting games. There were many old school arcade games that used two joysticks, one to move about and another one to aim your gun. Modern game pads with analogue sticks work even better for accurate aiming as they let you aim quickly in any direction. With the advent of games like Geometry Wars on the Xbox there has been a resurgence of this type of game. Many now exist both on consoles and on PC.

Example games are:

Geometry Wars, Hotline Miami, Waves, Everyday Shooter... there are many of them!

Here are some articles about these type of games if you dont know of them...

I don't code at all but if you can craft a game as wonderful as Teleglitch then it shouldn't take too much effort to implement this kind of control scheme.
