Converting and Stealing Maps

Hi:
How do you steal maps from other players? I know that it involves taking their capital, but I occupied Venice during our recent war, and didn't get any maps.
Also, just out of curiousity, how do you force other countries to adopt your religion?

There is a random event, you can occupy their capital (maybe Venice didn't know any new provinces?) and if you win a sea battle, there is a chance that you manage to steal enemy's rutters.

To adopt you religion:
you have to play with either sunni: conquer all provinces shiite country, then you can demand change of religion during peace negotiations. Remember though that you will gain nothing else, just a successful crusade and a lot of VPs
or counter-reformed catholic. Same thing: attack protestant or reformed country, capture all it's provinces and demand change of religion. They usually change back to old one within couple of month though.
And remember: you only change religion of that country. You don't change religion of any of it's provinces.

You _don't_ have to conquer all of a country to force-convert them -- I once force-converted Persia playing as Turkey, when I only held 3 or 4 provinces. I suspect that you need 6 stars, though.

Oops, silly me then. I've converted only small german states and you can't get 6 stars unless you get all of them. For some reason i assumend you must have all...

If I'm correct in assuming that you need 6 stars, then in theory, you should be able to force-convert a 4-province country without taking the capital (or alternatively, by taking the capital and one other province), assuming you don't go and make a mess of some major land or naval battle.

Würtenburg, Saxony, Thüringen, Kleves, Cologne. So much little countries and no need to attack someone bigger Easy VPs coming and you can conquer them before they have time to say ave maria
