So I remember there being a CK2 Plus converter but I haven't downloaded it in a while. I've started a game as King Aella in Northumbria in 866, executed most of Ragnar's sons and formed Northumbria as a proper kingdom through the "Create a Kingdom" event rather than forming England. Wessex formed England to the south and we've effectively split Mercia down the middle diagonally.

This is an incredibly interesting scenario to me because I always played Wessex before. I've never played without the Danelaw never being formed before. I want to eventually export this to EU4 because this will be a fascinating alt history with Northumbria colonizing the New World. Has anyone ever exported with a custom kingdom to EU4 using CK2 plus? What are the ideas in EU4 like? I ask this in the CK2 forum because I don't know how many EU4 players have actually played CK2 plus.

Also are there issues exporting with a rolled back game? I am not sure if EU4 has been updated since the CK2 update. I am playing with the patch right before Holy Fury.

From what I know the converter isn't supported very much by the CK2+ team but especially by Paradox themselves so I wouldn't personally use it.

I read around and it looks like the CK2 plus converter isn't currently updated. I've also read elsewhere that some have just used the vanilla converter. I will give it a shot and if it doesn't work I will just keep the save for later in case it is updated at some point!

I've converted saved games before. Though the converter itself creates converted games for the wrong version of EUIV - courtesy of Paradox for not keeping their DLC up to date.

To answer this, assuming you're staying Anglo-Saxon and keeping your capital in the Isles...
SEN_ideas = {

trigger = {
OR = {
capital_scope = { region = british_isles_region }

primary_culture = anglo_saxon
}
free = yes #will be added at load.

in_defense_of_home = {

So overall, perhaps a slight bit unbalanced. But like others have said, the converter only works up to 1.24 or something for now, although even then it's still a bit wonky in areas and you'll probably have to edit the converted file (e.g. I believe some cultures don't convert properly and some provinces map in a manner that potentially leads to several enclaves if you're going by de jure borders).

The converter always was kind of shitty. I used it once, spent like 8 hours cleaning the result up, then when I played it in EU4 it wasn't even worth it because you wouldn't get very many different kinds of flavor events or decisions.

And going from a modded CK2plus to an unmodded EU4 isn't satisfying at all. Especially when you could be playing MEIOU.

I never got people actually wanting to use it. It was never anything more than complete and utter shit. Even after cleaning shit up for 8 hours you would have craziness that showed you had to work on it for a few more days related to king names, cultures, and all kinds of shit.

Like you have a kingdom that is 100% danish but when it's exported you have an anglo-saxon leader. That kingdom is anglo-saxon in the exported game and the name file for it is all kinds of fucked because you had an arab cousin. You literally have to edit every file if you want even an ounce of flavor.
