This is just a short notice to let everyone know that CORE 0.30 for Doomsday is drawing ever nearer and has just entered more-or-less public Beta testing.

Interested in helping out? Head on over to http://www.terranova.dk and talk to Ghost_dk about getting access (he is, unfortunately, a bit hard to get a hold of at this very moment, but it should hopefully clear up rather soon).

Regards,

The CORE Development team

Good news! Can you tell us what'll be included in this release, and what install version (DD1.2, DD1.3a, etc...) we'll need?

I can confirm 0.30 is for 1.3a. And we're thinking of moving towards Armageddon, but only if the bugs are ironed out first. :p

Version 0.30 includes as of now (I may have left out the odd thing or two):
- Completely revised infrastructure;
- Revised terrain;
- Completely distributed/revised resources (historical);
- Revised infantry tech tree;
- expanded industry, air and air doctrine tech trees;
- new land doctrine tech tree;
- new armor tech tree;
- new secret tech tree, including completely revised nuclear techs (historical);
- new models matching the new tech trees;
- SS event chain;
- New historical tech teams for most nations;
- New tech team images;
- New leaders and leader images;
- New events added, like the aircraft purchase&licensing events;
- Revised inc-files to match new tech and model setups;
- Many revised events, such as Spanish Civil War;
- A manual.

Additionally a CORE graphics pack as well as a 'CORE in Color' graphics pack are available, covering most COREd techs. Models and other graphics are still on the to-do list, but will be added as we move forward.

Which still means you can apply, but you'd probably end up on the reserve list. :p

Any chance of .3 going to vanila HoI2? ;)

I mean AI improvements similiar to those in the DAIM mod(ie regular, large seaborne invasions of Europe/Africa/Asia by the Allies, instead of just waiting for the Axis to come to them etc.. DAIM also had AI which allowed enemy troops to encircle and destroy my own troops, as well as enabling frequent counterattacks in order to make my own encirclement of enemy troops that much harder. Also, it would be a good idea to give less random choices for techs - so that Russia, for example, would mostly research current land-borne techs and leave naval/paaratrooper and similiarly rarely-used techs until much later.

Are you going to use counters from Skiff? They are the best ones out there, and they still make it easy to see what unit it is, something that most other graphic designers forgot. Beauty and simplicity combined.
