Core and Vanilla won't start

Hi,

I installed HOI2 Doomsday and patched it to 1.3a. Now whenever i try to launch it, a message saying "error in db" pops up. I installed CORE after that and to my surprise I was able to start the game. However, while "initializing provinces" the game hangs up again. I've been installing and re-installing all the components several times but it just won't work...can anyone help me please? Thx.

How long do you leave it "hanging" ? It may be generating a new navaldist.tbl file, which can take up to 1/2-1 hr on slower computers, the first time you run it. Once the file is generated, it will start up at normal speed thereafter. You will need to let it finish generating this file the first time, however, so I'd recommend having a book to read for a bit whilst you let it run through for 45 mins or so, just to check if it this particular problem.
