CORE in MP

Been trying to play CORE in MP... and cant seem to be able to. Maybe there is a sticky or something about why you cant.... but I haven't seen it so ill drive on.

Im trying to Lan it between two of my computers, install it exactly alike etc...

I Host the lan, join with the other. When i click on the scenario, the file compressing screen jumps from the upper left corner across the screen to the bottom right while flickering. After about 2 minutes, it turns to a black screen and a windows error report. Which is:

Modver: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00001010

I tried another test, loaded a game, saved as germany before game start. Exited and started a lan, had other computer join. Chose the save game. File started compressing correctly. Compressed, other computer started loading the save. But instead of working it would hit 100, pause a few seconds, then start over. This would go on infinitely.


Any idea what i may have to do to get mp to work? Or is it impossible? Shouldnt be id imagine... hmm...

AFAIK you have to copy the files from the moddir into the regular Vanilla directory structure to make it work.

mod-dir doesn't work for MP play, basically, so you have to extract all the files from the subdirectory, and copy them into a customised install to get MP working. I've done it in the past - just have to remember to not try and play anything else with that version of the game ! Helps to delete all the other scenarios from the scenarios folder, say, otherwise you might click on one of them and get a very messed up looking result.

MP lan

Hi I have a Problem with Lan Mp as well.
If i start up a Lan and choose a scenario the other PC cant join the room.
I had Copy paste the whole Doomsday folder to the other pc using the same Lan connection Now my Qeustion is how can I let the other Pc join my Room?
Additional Info I have some Graphic mods installed on core as well. But the other pc has the Graphic mods aswel cause I cope pasted the whole Game.

You would do me and my friends a great favour.

Can you get the other PC to join in a vanilla game of HoI2 ? try that first, because we haven't done anything to the parts of the game that deal with MP games, etc, so I think whatever problem you are having may well be a HoI2 problem, not a CORE related issue.

Hoi2 hoi2doomsday and hoi2 Armmegaddon work fine.
But now i found out that it was the pc self what was wrong with it so i used an other pc and now i have the prob that he loads the scenario over and over and over again. And so it still doesnt work

You need to make sure the checksum for both games is identical - that is the only thing that I can see might be causing this issue right now.

heres a trick i used... start in single player save it and start the modded version of doomsday as normal on both machines... then load the singleplayer savegame and voila it plays.

What i did was copy the whole inside CORE directory into the basic HOI folder and it worked. Annoying but for some reason it worked. Just copy it and paste, dont cut.

If that doesnt work, save on jan 1 1936, and try it that way. Think that was another work around i used. Either way something worked.
