I am installed CORE into s specially created CORE subfolder in my Doomsday folder. Then I hit the generated icon, launching HoI2 with an addon, -modcore something.

The game launches, announcing at the top right of the start menu screent hat this is indeed the CORE mode, but when I hit sinlge player, there is NOTHING. No saved game, no scenarios, nothing at all.
What am I doing wrong? Could anyone help me out please?

I have 2 HoI2 folders - one for mods and one vanilla. I installed CORE last night and every time I tried to play it would CTD. I deleted both folders and reinstalled it. The icon for CORE was still on my desktop but was aimed at the vanilla folder instead of the copy (the vanilla folder this time is called Doomsday and before the mod folder was called Doomsday) and I got the exact same thing you described.

So basically, sorry for long winded answer, but make sure it is installed in the right place etc.?

CORE should be installed into the mod-CORE2 folder. The shortcut to the HoI EXE is OK, though it should have a suffix of mod-CORE2. CORE comes with 1 scenario, and that file is located in the mod-CORE2/scenarios directory.

Tried installing into a temp directory and then copy/pasting the files into your setup, by any chance? Do remember to select the right version (DD or ARM) during the install!

I have used the CORE installer several times now. I let it install in the Doomsday folder. It is sublisted with all the regular things-db, maps and so on.
I can still play Armageddon by the desktop short cut, or CORE if I choose. Core has no effect on being able to choose the original game while installed in that manner.
With all other mods, I have found it neccessary to install (over write) a seperate DD folder (original) in a completely seperate folder. I have 5 other mods running like this w/o any problem-now. Previously, while using Mod Dir, or just try to put other mods in with the main game, I had little luck. I must have re-downloaded DD 6 times due to a ruined game folder.
So, just let it create its own folder in DD and you should not have any problem. It also un-installs clean-leaving a trouble free game if need be.
