The small symbol indicates that the division is two brigade division. nations fielded two or three brigade size divisions and a few mixed the two.

That sounds awesome, thanks. I can't wait, but it looks like I will have to

I have some question about the name of the two "two_brigade_divisions" of this screenshoot..., if i understand correcty their names (I don't speak polish :p), they are two brigades...

What is the CORE policy about OOB... shouln't this two "brigades" be merged into one "two_brigade_division" ?

As Poland, could I have the choice of bulding Two or Three brigade size divisions ?

Isn't the brigade size more adapted than division size for this game ?

Hi!
I'm Polish.
I'm not an authority in OOB but the cavalry brigades should't be merged into one division. In reality they were acting as completly independet units and to be honest they were larger than normal/other in game brigades.
What else I can say is that the polish cavalry were some kind of elite units. Best soldiers, best equipment, best training.
If you wish, I will try to get here somebody who knows little more about polish cavalry, but please believe me merging them will be a big, completly unhistorical mistake.

I'm only wondering is the strenght of units locked for good or could they be reinfirced?

The 'TO&E' picure on the bottom states the differences between a Two Regiment (and in the case of the Commonwealth, brigades) Division, and a Three Regiment Division. Historically, from what I have read, the Polish Cavalry Brigades were actually two regiments in strength, realistically close to that of other contemporary Cavalry Divisions (terminology being primarily different in this case). Brigades aren't merged, but rather will, or will be (once the armies are built) brought up to 1:1 representation (no Polish Cavalry units merged into divisions, but are represented as separate units).

Unit strength is not locked, it will get to 100%. We simply divided the 10 models into two groups for most units. One group of 5 represents 2 Regiment Divisions, and the other group of 5 represents 3 Regiment Divisions. Unfortunately, due to upgrade limitations, and the limitations of 10 Models, we are stuck with a nation using 2 Regiment Divisions the entire game (or 3 Regiment Divisions, depending on what they start off with). However, with a new division type (the Reserve Division), this gives a player the option of 4 ranges of 'infantry type forces' in which will be found in the game (however, the individual nations only get to use 2 of them).

Will it be possibble to DL only C.O.R.E. without graphic update?

All of the graphics that I am showing are part of the basic CORE2 graphics package. They are included with the download. Right now the download is right around 9 Mb for CORE2. This includes all of the new flags, shields, counters for those flags and shields, event pictures and other graphics. The seperate graphics only download will probably be significantly larger (I don't know how big yet).

Of course if your goal is to play without those graphics, you can always delete them from the CORE2 directory and they won't be used. In the absence of those graphics in the directory, the Vanilla graphics will be used. MDow

That was unfortunately the worst update so far in my opinion.

Sorry that you feel that way.

Why don't you release it without the mobilization and purge events and spare them for the second release?

The mobilsation events are necessary to bring the economies of the nations up to a wartime level. Without those we are either forced to give countries their entire IC at the beginning of the 1936 scenario (very ahistorical) or leave them at that level until a war starts. I personally do not find either of those choices appealing. With the mobilsation events we can gradually increase the amount of IC available for military construction and research. This should allow for historically accurate recreations of the difficulities that the democratic nations faced trying to find funding for all of the projects that they wanted.

As for the purge events, they are being included because of the extra time that we have while the mobilsation events are finished. Just think of them as kind of bonus for your patience. MDow

Please release it before Doomsday comes out. I'll die if you'll have to scrap the current project and make the whole new CORE for Doomsday.
Yes, it would be terrible to have someone's death on our shoulders for not releasing. I will talk to the team, but let me know if you will be able to make it regardless.

;)

In either case, I don't think we would have to do a whole new CORE for Doomsday, though significant work with the current version (as of DDs release) will probably be necessary.

Nice units OOB. But if it is so accurate for polish naval forces (not so big at that time) what with other big fleets (English, French, Italian, US) - they'll should be really huge.
