I've played the last version with great joy and this one looks even more amazing. Will a mac port be available at some point?

The mac files are available - the biggest problem right now is that the 1.3 ARM patch is NOT available for the mac, as yet. If you skip back a couple of pages, I did reply to someone who posted about mac users - it should be possible to get a version for the mac that is functional, although without the 1.3 patch, some items may not work as well as they should do.

Playing U.S., I noticed that there is a flotilla of three
auxiliary ships that are located in the port of Los Angeles.
I'm assuming that these ships are sea-plane tenders, but do they have any function in the game and how do they factor in
the naval warfare of the U.S. in C.O.R.E?

I replied about sea-plane tenders in another thread - basically, they are good scouts, but quite weak, so you will need to protect them. Usefulness is rather up to you - the AI will probably stick them in some larger fleet or other, but they tend to be relatively slow vessels.

Is something wrong with the 1940 Assault gun tech?
The techfile says:

required = { 2830 6520 } # 1938 Artillery AND 1938 Firepower Doctrine
or_required = { 2000 2130 } # Production Rights OR '39 Medium Tank
# Activated by: Tank Production Rights (2000) OR 1930 Postwar Tank Design and Development (2010)

I have 1938 Artillery, 1939 Medium tank and postwar tank design, so the tech should be activated, right?

You need BOTH of 1938 Artillery AND 1938 Firepower Doctrine (plus ONE of Production Rights or 1939 Medium Tank) to be able to research this tech. You seem to be missing 1938 Firepower Doctrine from your comments, hence why you can't research it.

SeaPlane Tenders

I thought the sea-plane tenders were used more for
supply and maintenance, not scouting. I don't know if in some future patch, this might be reflected lets say in a
beter supply and repair function at the port where they are located.

In addition, you might want to add this repair and supply link to PBY development or in the naval bomber tech chain.

Thank You

I'd like to thank the entire group at C.O.R.E. for all
of their hard work and time in developing 0.40. You ahve done an incredible job!!! Only one CTD so far and that is playing U.S. in September 1936.

I love the new tech tree and logic that it is based on.

Thanks again!!!

Hagar, I'd love to upload my save game with the CTD but the Mantis website gives me an error whenever I try to register for a login..... :(
Alternatively you can send it directly by email - I'll PM you my email address.

In case it helps anyone else, I seem to have solved the CTD problem. I am running CORE in XP compatibility (SP2) with desktop composition and desktop scaling disabled. No more problems with CTD's.

Now, if I could just solve the weird intelligence screen graphic ... but MartinBG has some ideas ...
Good to hear it! The number of CTDs were just unreal, so it couldn't have been caused by CORE after two years of development and testing. But we'll make sure to use this info in case others have the same problem. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

Much better than .3.2! Only a couple of CTD's none of which were recreatable, so its probably just my computer. The only apperent downside is that both China and Finland fell to their respective enemies in '39.

Well it better be - we've been working on 0.4.0 for two years... But it's nice to see our efforts are appreciated.

Hi,

You also need the Land Doctrine 1938 Firepower (Mobile) for this to be available.

Hi,

The ships are also assumed to include a dedicated group of aircraft. So there is some "scouting" going on even though the ship isn't the one really doing this. What would be the perfect representation would be to allow the unit to function as a mobile Airbase for NAV units. Unfortuunately this is well beyond the available coding. Having so interplay between the AV and the NAV techs is an interesting idea to look at. Not sure we can modify any stats that would give a realistic effect but it is worth looking into.

Could you try again if you please? The installers have been used for the Release Candidate test, so they certainly worked before. But these packs are getting so large that the upload is getting a bit unreliable these days.

Edit: just tested myself - worked without a hitch for me. So the uploaded file itself is fine.

Just to confirm - I redownloaded and it worked fine. I've played a few games and it looks really, really impressive

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I don't think this is installing correctly.

I have installed Armageddon. Patched to 1.3b2. Then installed CORE in Colour. (Just an FYI I have also tried it with GIP .8 (Is this version good?) installed aswell)

I created a shortcut with mod-CORE2 at the end of the target line.

When I start up I get the CORE splash screen and at the top right hand corner it says:

Doomsday Armageddon v 1.3 (PHVR)
mod-CORE2

When I go to Single Player, there are NO scenarios available while running the CORE shortcut executable.

If I run the standard HoI2.exe I get all the standard scenarios.

Any help would be awesome.

OK, here's what you missed: 'CORE in colour' is only the graphics pack. You need to install CORE .4 first, then the graphics pack on top of it. The installer for CORE .4 will also create the shortcut for you.

Glad you like it, the more so given the amount of work that went into it!

Hahaha, what a doofus, I was thinking the CORE in Colour had everything compiled in it.

ROFL. Cheers for the headsup mate.:rolleyes:
We split them up intentionally, mostly due to the size of the graphics set. This way we can release a hotfix a lot easier...
