Hello everybody!!

I wanted to ask you if CORE has improved the AI and the combat system and in what way this has been changed...

Thank you for your help,

Aris
Yes and no... No if you're referring to 0.3.2 (well, not by much). But the upcoming 0.4.0 release has a complete AI overhaul and an upgraded combat system.

Sweet. :) When will 0.4.0 be released? Atleast approximately.
We're aiming for a first release candidate build coming weekend, which is to be distributed to the Betas. Depending on the results of the test we'll decide whether it's a thumbs-up or thumbs-down for an official release. So we're in the closing phase of the Beta test as of now, and things are looking up. Having said that, the time between builds is rather long (partly due to the fact that changes to the AI have serious implications due to the number of files involved), so if you want an estimate for a formal release I'd say between one and three months. But that's an estimate rather than a fixed timeline - the long time between builds makes an accurate prediction of the formal release next to impossible.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the information. That means I can start a CORE game with my buddy without having to worry about the update coming too soon. :p
Believe me, we will release it the moment we can - it's taken far too long already. But a release within the next two weeks is highly unlikely.

According to Johan's interview at GameReactor, HOI3 could be released in June at the earliest, August at the latest. Once that happens, nobody's going to be interested in CORE for HOI2.

It's definitely time to reduce expectations and release what you have. We all understand that it's a labor of love, free mod, etc. But pretty soon it's also going to be irrelevant, and I don't want to see that.

Like I said, we're winding up things for 0.4.0. As to HoI3, well we just have to wait and see whether it's much of an improvement over HoI2. Given the fact that there's still an active Hoi1 CORE1 community I wouldn't go as far as saying that the release of HoI3 will leave HoI2 dead in it's tracks. Obviously we will look at migration to HoI3 once it's released...
Besides, being a Paradox game the initial release date is pretty irrelevant - it's the release date of patch #2 that's the most important. :D

Are you kidding???

The new map alone makes me never want to touch HoI2 anymore. Yes, Paradox games tend to be very buggy at start, but if they incorporate only a tenth of the things Johan announces in the developer diaries, a bugged HoI3 is still more fun HoI2 will ever be.

I think in the coming weeks there will be more interest in HOI2 Arma.... i don't know why i feel that way ...... :)

I can only judge fairly once I see it. The new number of provinces seems a huge improvement, but so far I've seen only screenshots...

I think I do know - I've got a pretty good hunch what you're hinting at, having inside information from Ghost...

Just trying to live up to my new nickname....

Looks down at his signature
