Well, its really BIG DICK update. Because its corrupted my empire totally - and because its ironman without backups, i cant switch back to 2.8.1 on steam (well, i did it and receive totally crippled empire - all pops are dying, great, thanks).
Are there any way to downgrade broken savefile back to compatibility with 2.8.1?..

I am sorry but once an Ironman save is updated by a later version, it cannot be "downdated" back to the earlier version. It would only be if you'd kept a copy of the last save under 2.8.x that you could load it again.

What should have happened when you went to load the 2.8.x Ironman save under 3.0.x is it would have refused to load, warning you it was incompatible. However due to an oversight that did not happen when users hit the RESUME button in the launcher. I've alerted the devs to this and it should not happen again.

Our apologies for your lost campaign!

Great, apparently I just did the same thing. Launched the game for a quick play, hit Resume and destroyed my ironman save file. Loaded without any problem and there was no warning. I spend hours on that game and was finally on track to get some of the achievements I tried to get for a long time.

Thanks for the DICK update, completly spoiled my mood and I guess I wont play Stellaris any time soon again.

Just wanted to inform y'all that this is still an issue with 3.8, I also just lost my save to this. Given the complexity of handling a whole galaxy this detailed, that fix would be trivial...
