I have had this problem where after the intro to EU2, I get a a blank screen and a message saying, "Fatal error: Could not initialize video". This will happen everytime. Although the game worked at first for awile it started to do this and won't stop. Even after I reinstalled it.

Let me answer this one!

Rename your avi folder to avi_rn or something, so the game can't see it.

Upgrading DirectX could help as well.
