I get that hating AI is kind of their thing, but it's way to easy to get the holy guardians mad at you as individual machines. come on, the observers grudgingly tolerate purifiers.

No, machines are soulless constructs that must be purged. Especially machines that think they are "individuals".

They hate Synthetically ascended empires too, as soon as you ascend they start sending humiliation demands. I think if you aren't nearby they wont actually attack you though, I refused the humiliation and they left me alone for decades until I brought my subject that neighbored them into a federation and then they immediately declared war.
