We have read a great deal about the economic and colonial advantages of turning Protestant (condemning your soul to Hell after, :D)or Reformed.
on the other hand, it seemed that apart from catholic, a country can be Counter-reformist. i've read that in this way you can 'force' conversion in annexed provinces. however, the short-term advantages of this religion are not clear to me:
you just try to convert (more revolts) or you get automatically conversion?
thanxs for the help

No you can choose to force a country to change STATEreligion in a peace negotiation, IF you have conquereed all of its provinces. This gives you a lot of VP's.

Second as Counterreformed you get 1 colonist per year reflecting this 'religion's' inclination to convert heathens (read: provinces). :)

are you saying that I would be able to force-convert Russia to Catholicism?

------------------
King of the Mighty Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. decendant of the great Jagiellonian Dynasty.

Yes you would be, but I think this would have no effect on the provincial level. The population would still be orthodox. Maybe this could be a brilliant option for Poland to destabilize Russia. With a catholic Tsar it could be possible to attack Russia without all the revolts in lithuanian orthodox provinces. If you give them nearly as much of tolerance as to catholics Poland could become defender of the orthodoxy. LOL
As I said somewhere else
'Jeszcze Polska nie zginela'

Sorry. Originally as is in the manual counter-catholics could only convert protestants/reformed. however, I read something on the forum that people with the german edition force converted shiites as Ottomans. So it might be so that Johan has changed the mechanism so that every religion can force convert/ be force convert. I can't ask him because he has a day off.

Greven, you're right. The option to converse Russia wasn't given to me. This is a pity.
