So I am new to CK (got it from the newsletters) and I have a couple of questions

1- For some reason no matter how much I expand I can't seem to be making more money. For example I played has an Irish nation, united Ireland, Invaded Wales and own at the moment roughly 1/3 of Great Britain however no matter how much I build or how many nations I vassalize I can't seem to make more money( I have 100% on the demses directly ruled by the ruler thingy) which means I can't use the full extent of my forces since I will soon go bankrupt(can only raise 3-4 regiments).

2- As I mentioned before 1/3 of GB belongs to me, the rest ironically belongs to muslims who destroyed the native kingdoms some time ago. Their are empires of roughly my size but whenever I enter in war with them, even with similar level marshal's, 10 000 muslims can easily beat 24 000 of my troops, and due to this eventually I get overrun and have to restart. What I tend to do is put all my armies on a huge stack and merge, but I don't know if this is the ideal? Which is best large stacks or lot's of smaller armies going together?

1- If you have lots of vassals, check your scutage level in the taxation screen. That's where your main income comes as a big kingdom. When at war with a smaller countries, use your vassals' troops as they don't cost you any money to upkeep. It is also perfectly normal to have a negative treasury after a long war.

2- Big stacks suffer big attrition. Keep your armies in a slightly smaller stacks (I'd say 5000) and put them in the same province only when there is a battle going on.

Remember to not keep all the land yourself. You need vassals. It sounds very much like your effeciency is very low. Hower your mouse over the gold at the top. It shows you how many provinces you can govern directly without a drop in effeciency. If it drops below 75%, you'll start getting bad events, and it will hurt your income.

It could have something to do with their tech levels too :) ... if they have better weapons and armour, they will beat you. If they show up in scale armor, wielding sharp steel swords, while you show up in cloth armour and wodden pitchforks, they will win ;).

Fair enough. But how can you tell what another nation's tech levels are? As far as I know you can see this in your own capital province and that's it. So do you have to find out the hard way?

Thanks for the tech tip, that's most likely what I was missing. Altough It seems I won't expel the arabs from great britain so soon since their marshal as 26 Militancy

Nope it is at 100%

Nope it is at 100%

Then I guess you have set scutage to 0 :) ... but that just gives you more vassal troops and +1 loyalty modifier :) ... that is what I always do.

Well since this thread is already here, I would like to ask where do I check the nation rank on CK? I've seen it on AAR but can't find the icon anywhere

Also, what AAR do you recommend for the total newbie to learn?

Thanks, I thought there would be a ingame button for it
