Hey, I've read all the DDs and have some questions, if I have understood everything correctly.

1) A clan is the acting politcal unit on the map? If I swear alliance to another clan, my clan ceases to exist?

2) A clan consists of the main branch, cadet branches and sworn vassals?

3) Only main branch landholders are able to be elected clan rulers?

4) Every hatamto and every daimyo has a demense limit of 5 provinces?

5) are hatamotos vassals of daimyos (like CK Counts -> Dukes) or is everybody just a vassal of the clan leader?

Thanks in advance

Well, if I understood what I read on these forums correctly:

1) If your clan swears vassalage to another clan, you become one of their daymios. I am not sure what happens to your vassal daymios, however;

2) I am not sure.

3) I believe daymios within a clan can be elected, as well as your heir - a daymio himself;

4) I think so. Hatamotos are called kojukin, though;

5) I believe kojukins can be vassals to daymios and clan leaders, and daymios can be vassals to clan leaders - which are also daymios, but in a leading clan position.

1) If you as a clan is subjugated by another clan, you still retain (most of) your own clan structure within the new clan.

2) A clan is the clan leader and any number of vassals, some of which might be of your own dynasty.

3) Only direct vassals of the clan leader that shares the same dynasty might be elected clan leader.

4) Every landed character has a demesne limit of 5.

5) Both kokujins and daimyos can be direct vassals of the clan leader, but only daimyos may have their own vassals.
