I would bother. It is an advanced tactic to force-convert the bastards. They'll get a brutal stab catastrophe when thay change back their religion. And then it is smashing time. Very good against larger countries as England and Sweden. :)

But then it is a method of destructing another country which I never said it wasn't in the case of esp England (it isn't for those HRE tiny nations). However I want them to be catholic not a crippled protestant nation :D

If I wanted a crippled protestant nation I'd declare war, get lots of stars and then take whatever I want. Instead u go for 2 wars, the first one force converting them and the 2nd picking up the bits left. Why not go straight for the stuff u want in the first place then as when ur in a position to forceconvert anyway u can get large reparations alreday ? Why fight 2 wars to get the same result really ? Xure England for example will be in a crap state but my nation will have to sit thru 2 wars conquering lots of stars instead of one.

And as I said earlier in the tread and post I'm doing it for the good of the catholic faith. I want a strong catholic England, not a crippled protestant one.

In this thread I was mostly talking baout Austria in the HRE. I want to be able to create strong catholic vassal states there, not weak protestant ones. To preserve my borders, to keep the Emperor crown and so on but most of all for the good of the Faith! :D

I have to admit, I like being CRC. I'm playing as France. I was fighting a low-intensity war vs a Paltinate/Kleves alliance, watching my borders with the Spanish (North and South) and Austria (I had taken Helvetia and Tyrol), so I sent in a few troops, took one province, and then forced a conversion on the Palts.

5 years later, to the month, they convert back to Prot. CB is back, my borders are secure, so I go marching to the north and smash them both, thanks to their now weakened stability. Two months later, I have three provinces in north Germany to add to my Empire. NICE. :D

Not to mention having an extra colonist never hurts.

But ... in order to "force-convert the bastards" you've *already* smashed them, cos you have to own all their provinces to do it. If the only reason for converting them is so you can beat them up in war ... well, you already did that, just take stuff now. :D

What if if you force convert a country, that country automatically becomes your vassal? It would be real cool and not unhistorical at all!

Cheers,

Carlos

Heyesey,

Maybe you have smashed them. Maybe it's a relatively quick peace. Also, if you're in a couple other wars, the last thing you need is to take a BB stab that's gonna invite the First WW of the BB. So force-convert, wait 5 yrs for them to go back, and then crush them.

Also, a force convert is something like 100VP to your score, and it makes your citizens like your country again. So if you hate that darkest red spot on the diplo screen being your homeland, a CRC nation can do that in lieue of taking cash in a peace settlement, and the people will love you again.

Nothing like fickle masses.

:D

WOW! This is surely longest BiB post I have ever seen! Amazing. Everyday you discover something new about the game. ;)

It was fifteen when I used it for the first - and last - ever time. 15 VPs when I already have over seven thousand, is not exactly a big incentive :D

Who ? Doesn't matter anyway, Christian nations can always convert (if the appropriate religious events have happened).

Anyway, if they do (which they will :D), I guess u just have to teach them another lesson :D

Do you earn any Vp's for making them convert?? :)
