So I was on vacation, turns out the RV park which claimed to have wifi, had the worst possible wifi in the history of wifis. So I was deep off the grid in Redwood country the last week. Tonight or tomorrow will see the next update.
So here's the thing. I played well ahead of the AAR, and this game ran into the mid game doldrums pretty badly.
The diplomatic changes in the Asimov patch look like they would have been the cure for a lot of that. Stale diplomacy accounted for a lot of the dullness.
So the question I pose is this: would you rather have the AAR continue from here to some place I feel is a decent stopting point, or would you rather have a reboot?
One way or the other the story of the Tordii will continue, very slowly and carefully.

I'd be okay with a reboot, so things won't just eventually temper off to what you consider a good stopping point. Not knocking that scenario, but I just prefer the idea of going the full distance.

Brief summary of the further events of this play through:
The next post would have been Admiral Zacadliss and the Peacekeeping Fleet wiping out the Fallen Legion base. They apparently lost their ships and wormhole station, probably due to a Space Ameoba attack (I hadn't seen Ameobas for several years, but there used to be one running about in the area).
The rest of the game was rather straightforward. The newly contacted aliens to our south turned out to be quite friendly. An equally peaceful neighbor was found in the north. So the next 50 years or so were all about establishing new colonies and exploring anomalies. Some of the later were good stories that I'm hoping will come up again.
I formed an alliance which became a federation. By 64 years in (I chose that as a milestone because the Tordii use base 8) the Tordukan Magistry stretched from rim to core, and the Tordii were the most numerous species in the galaxy. Our expanded federation (the Propitious Compact) included the number 2 species, a more aggressive Empire "north-east" of our northern allies. Aside from some monster hunting and the integration of the Han-Mur, very little of note happened.
I've started playing the reboot campaign, looks promising.
