Hi! When I click on Country Market > Show Harvest Conditions on the map, a black screen appears. The game keeps running, the cursor still responds to the interface, but the black screen cannot be closed. Exiting the game and saving is impossible. Version 1.8.1.

macOS Sonoma

Please do a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Vic3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Victoria3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Victoria3 or Documents Victoria3 locations, before installing again.

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Victoria3/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (settings files, error logs, saved games, mods) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/ .

Hi! Thanks for the instructions. I followed every step, but nothing changed. Additionally, with the latest update (1.8.6), performance has become extremely poor (FPS 30-32), and below the paper map level, FPS drops to 2-5! The game is simply unplayable.

macOS Sequoia 1.5.2

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I don't see a good reason for this poor performance in those files. Or indeed the crashes.

As the clean reinstall didn't help, you might try reducing the game's resolution:
"fullscreen_resolution": "3024x1964",
Given that your Mac's desktop is only:
Primary Display Resolution: 1512 x 982
Desktop Resolution: 1512 x 982
!

Does that help at all?

Hi! My computer has a Liquid Retina XDR display with a resolution of 3024 × 1964, as stated in the system settings.

The performance issue wasn’t resolved, even when using the resolution you recommended. Additionally, I set the quality settings to minimum, but it didn’t significantly improve performance.

I should mention that before the latest update, I never encountered this issue. The game ran smoothly at maximum resolution and graphics quality settings.

Odd that Steam thinks:
Primary Display Resolution: 1512 x 982
Desktop Resolution: 1512 x 982
But that is probably not related to your problem, I guess.

Please revert to the previous update that you say ran faster, which is done in the Steam Betas tab for the game - does it still do so?
