I do not know how long you wait till you close the task in the task manager. I have the same problem, but if I wait long enough I get the message "unable to communicate with Paradox server" so maybe the game does not crash but does not get a connection and therefore seems to be stuck for a while...

Are you using Bitdefender?
I am not using bit defender, and I have a similar problem. Mine occurs on level 3, the level right after Mojito and Porky. If I press spacebar or a, the game will immediately show my mouse cursor and crash. Yet, the prologue, level 1, and level 2 do not have that problem. I too require assistance, so please help if possible. Thank you for your time.

You can try to turn off and lower some settings to see if that helps, can you check for crash_dumps/logs? You can get to them by pressing Windows button + R and type in %AppData% and navigate to \ParadoxInteractive\Magicka2

Here's my Magicka 2 folder. Hopefully the drag and drop worked.
Edit: It looks like it didn't. I can't seem to find any crash reports. Sorry.
Clarification: Under the logs folder are console things, but they're empty. Even though there's a lot of them.
Success: I've finally got the level working. I turned off vertical sync, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and dynamic lighting. For whatever reason, those four seemed to have trouble. I know that dynamic lighting alone can crash it, but I'm not sure what combinations of the others are dangerous. Thank you paradox anyway! And for those of you having that crash, just drop those settings.
