Thank you for the report. Are you playing with any mods?
If you are, please try adding "--disableModding" as a launch option (https://pdxint.at/LaunchOptionsCS). This removes access to PDX Mods entirely, and if the game and a new save works with this enabled then the issue lies in the mods you have installed, and if you're unable to disable your mods in-game you can always do so on the web version.

I had no mods, I only had all the region packs installed.

When I run launcher and select play cities skylines II with code mods disabled and load the same save it works but it does have the same amount of active region packs playing so I dont understand why that works when theres nothing different but not complaining I can play again now, just have to click play with disabled code mods so thank you.

DIsabling code mods does not affect the region packs, so they can't really be contributing to your problem.

Can you please provide the following:

  • The player.log
Located in \AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II (To see the AppData folder you’ll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer)

  • A DxDiag
    • Open your Start menu, Cortana or Search
    • Type dxdiag in the search field
    • Click on the dxdiag program
    • A window called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should pop up now
    • Wait until the green bar at the bottom-left has disappeared
    • At the bottom right-hand side, click on "Save all information"
    • Save it to a place where you can find it easily, for example your desktop
    • Attach this file here
    • IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Hi Andrew, I've attached the player log and the DxDiag.

I've used mods in the past but had too much crashing so I uninstalled them, so recently only been playing with the region packs, but it is crashing when I load the game normally, but with the disabled code mods works fine but using same region packs. Wish I knew but I dont know why that is

This looks like a classic mod cache issue.

Please delete the folder ".pdxsdk"in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\.cache\mods, Delete the folder playsets_metadata and the file PlaySetSettings .

If that doesn't help we'll need to do a full clean reinstall.

Good luck!

Hi Andrew,

Thanks I can now play normally without having to select disable code mods and seeming to work as it should now. It also fixed another issue I had where previously if I clicked resume it would just take me to the home screen it is now taking me back to the last game.

Thanks again appreciate everyone's help!
