Everytime I try to export a model of a Western European soldier from HOI4 with a replaced helmet, my autodesk maya crashes. I have applied a phong shader/material and applied the attr. Am I supposed to import the model with animations or something? If anyone knows how to help me that would be great.

You have to rename texture like this :
-askari_diffuse.dds
-askari_normal.dds
-askari_specular.dds

ps : sorry i was on a rush :/
I really hate to bother you again, but could you send me a UV map of the model? My diffuse texture doesn't map the hat right.

That's because i have no good enough results whit normal map, light doesn't reach on the model (over exaggerated) :/
You can produce one with diffuse color and nvidia normal tool if you want ;)
ah ok, I've used the nivida normal tool and messes with the texture. There was just alot of detail loss and it made the texture look very flat. Once again, I cannot thank you enough for all your help
