I have to admit I'm not familiar with this process, does CK produce saves that EU2 is supposed to be able to read unmodified? Or are you supposed to process them with some utility?

Have you ever got it to work? Anyone else got it working?

Other people have made it work. There's even an AAR or two out there with converted games. The main (and IMHO crippling) weakness is it gives everyone the default AI - which means Portugal/Spain/England don't explore, etc. People have also complained that it doesn't get cultures right, and the way it allocates provinces to nations (or chooses nations at all) is... curious. General consensus appears to be it's bugged for those reasons and near worthless...but it shouldn't be refusing to load at all like nrkybill says.

It might be a problem though. CK's export saves as a scenario. It has to be loaded as you'd load any other scenario (GC, 1492, etc.) If you try to load it as a saved game you'll fail.
