Crash To Desktop when declaring war

I'm playing France the great campaign. Now when I decalare war on Mainz the program crashes to the
desktop with window telling me This program has performed an illegal instruction. I t happens every time I try to declare war on Mainz.

do you have the EEP installed or any other modifications?

What do you mean with EEP?
I use version 1.05 and I have
installed the additional music that
was avaiable as a download file.

EEP=Event Exchange Project
a modification to the game created by users. If you don't know what it is, you probably don't have it
