Crash to desktop with XP ?

Please help
I've started my first game with EU2 and by the date of 19/01/1437 in the Grand Campaign it keeps crashing to desktop. Tried to start other games but they crash spontaneously, frequent enough to be unplayable.

I'm using Windows XP with an Athlon 1600+, 256Mo DDR, GeForce3 Ti200 and v1.00, v1.01 or v1.02 of EU2.

Try switching countries just before that date, and see if you can play past the crashing event then you can switch back again.

wich country is it? And is there an event that happens just before that?

I've been having a similar problem!

Only, my machine was ME, and it worked fine. And mine will not even get past the starting animations. I can't figure out what is wrong.

... so in what way is it a similar problem? Sounds totally different.

Similar Issues

I, too, have experienced similar problems with XP.

Game status: Playing GC as Spain in August 1501. A notification briefly pops up for a land tech advance. As soon as I click OK it pops back to the desktop. Running patched 1.02.

System: Intel 1.8 Ghz, 256 Mb RDR, GeForce video.

Have tried saving file as different names, running under different video resolutions and with music on and off. Same result.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ihave had this problem numerous times with various countries. It always happens at the end of the month and always when tere is a battle or siege going on. I am running windows XP on a Athlon 1600 with 256 DDR RAM and GForce2.

Try editing the savegame file and move the date forward a few days.

more of XP to desktop crashes

Hi,

I've experienced the XP to desktop crashes when playing the age of enlightment scenario. This has at least happened when playing with chinese or zulus
I'm running the nordic version which should be the 1.02 version out-of-the-box

Machine: Win XP professional, Athlon 500mhz, 256MB, Geforce2

Does changing the date solve the problem?
Do you have the lates drivers for XP and your video card?
Can you duplicate all your crash?
