Game crash at seemingly random moments as soon as I enter a game

Exe Git Version: release/1.0.5-tc-infra : c074c05849
This also happened with previous versions

What OS are you playing on?
OS: Windows 10 x86_64
OS Language: fr

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
Dissapointed/10

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
The game crash at (imo) unrelated moments of the game. Sometimes I can play a
week or two (in game) and then it crashes, sometimes it just crashes as soon as I enter
selection lobby. Most of the time it happens within the 5 min of gameplay.
The game being paused or not does not matter.
The game returns to desktop with no errors prompts, or crash logs/dumps
searching in C:\Users\<user_name>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 3

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Try to play a game (sorry can't be more specific here)

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
First of all, here is my laptop computer specs :
  • CPU Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz
  • CPU Speed: 2208MHz
  • CPU Physical Cores: 6
  • CPU Logical Cores: 12
  • System Memory: 16226
  • OS: Windows 10 x86_64
  • OS Language: fr
  • GPU Name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
  • GPU Vendor: nVidia
  • GPU Id: 7200
  • GPU Dedicated Memory: 6043
Having problems running games is not new for me. Despite my best efforts (i.e. repasting
cleaning fans), I know my computer has overheating issues and I akin to severe
throttling (CPU and GPU). This results in FPS drops in other games, but I find it to be
still playable.
I don't know if this is due to my specs this time around, but it's not playable unfortunately.

I've tried several approaches to fix my problem :
  • Minimum graphics (with Full HD res)
  • Windowed Mode
  • Disabling V-sync
  • All previous points but in 720p
  • Verifying game files
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling game on main partition
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Paradox Launcher v2
  • Launching game with .exe directly
Usually I use an external monitor as main monitor and shut my laptop lid when I play.
Trying on native monitor with low resolution and Full HD yielded the best results,
as I managed to play for a good hour before closing my game and trying with my
external monitor. The same game then crashed, and trying back with only my native
monitor didn't yield the same results and the game still crashed.

I have attached a save game

Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Does that help?

No it didn't, I did exactly as you said and my game still quits to desktop. Yet again with no crash reporter. Honestly getting pretty tired of this I have no issue with any other Paradox game and I have already sunk 20+ hours into this game and can no longer get a refund. Along with that its pretty disappointing to know I just have to wait until something gets fixed.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
