Both in 1.04 and in 1.05 my game crashes to system and automaticly restarts the computer. This happens randomly at no specific date and often after I have played more than an hour straight or so. I have monthly saved games and it's never a problem to restart the game as it playes through the same date withouth any trouble.

My system is as following:

AMD System 4
AMD XP 1800+
Matsonic ATX
Soundblaster Live 5.1
GeForce 2 MX -400 64 MB
768 MB DDR PC2100

About 70 GB free harddrive space.

I run the game on Win XP platform.

I have the latest drivers to all hardware and software.

After the computer restarts it has to 'Inkonsikvenskontrolleras' whatever that is in english. At one point in 1.04 it corrupted the harddrive so I had to reformat it.

Anyone have any idea why this happens and what can be done to avoid it?

Oh and BTW great job on the patces. I bought the game on the very date it was released in Sweden and playing the 1.00 version really turned me off. Coming back way later to version 1.04 I was pleseantly suprised and I bet 1.05 is even better. :)

Thanks for the support guys.

For further information I can say this have never happened to any other game not even EU2. Also when I turned off the music and went in to the activity handler (damn my english... aktivitetshanteraren in Swedish) and closed all processes thats not needed. Result: it did take 2 HOI years before I had one of this crashes, before it would take just a couple of month.

To me it seems that I perhaps have missed to update a crucial driver or so. Maybe I should try reformat my computer and do a clean install of HOI? While making sure everything is updated.

oh and if this is in the wrong forum can any of you guys move this to the right one? Thanks in advance. :)

Lets get the basics out of the way.
1) Rename your AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Update your operating system and Audio & Video drivers.
