I've installed patch 1.01 and I get a crash as soon as i start a new campaign. The background screen isn't full screen and I get an error message that HoI2 doesn't work any more... I have IC over Arma 1.02.

I have the same problem BUT only when i have set the game resolution to 1280x800 using any other resolution the game works fine, so far as i have tried.

When I change the resolution, I get the IC screen in the left upper corner (a black piece to the right en below as well) with no advancing bar and apparently nothing much happens any more...

I've done a full re-install and lowered the resolutions. This enables me to get the IC screen as it should after starting a new campaign. However the advancing bar stops quite quickly and nothing more happens. I've waited around 7 minutes without any progress...

This usually happens when you have a corrupted (or altered) Provinces.csv file. It can also happens if you don't have the navaldist file.
It seems that something is wrong in your installed game. Try to do a new fresh install in another folder (instead of replacing your existing game)

1.- Arma
2.- Arma patch 1.2
3.- Iron Cross
4.- Iron Cross 1.01 patch

If it doesn't work, please do not hesitate to ask for help again

I've tried several campaigns and countries and the thing just freezes. I wait for several minutes staring at the IC screen with the not advancing status bar. I doesn't give me an error. I just have to shut the thing down as nothing happens.

I am having the same problem with my new win7 laptop ("get an error message that HoI2 doesn't work any more... ")
deleted everything and re-installed it again.
One thing was odd, when applying the patch the default display-resolution was shown as "15" in the settings screen

problem persists (HoI2 doesn't work any more... )

de-installed everything,
manually deleted leftover files
did a registry clean up

installed Armageddon (Anthology version) into a folder with different name (Paradox Interactive/Iron Cross)
applied 1.02 patch
installed Iron Cross
- did choose 1600x600 as resolution
installed the patch
- was only able to choose from the following resolutions (15 being the default)
1024x768
1152x864
1280x768
1280x800
1360x768
1440x900 -> choose this one and saved settings + exit

started Program version 1.01 (KIIQ)

(HoI2 doesn't work any more... )

Did you try another resolution like 1024x768?

 stupid me

yes, with this installation using another resolution did work ... (slap myself in the face)

it did not work for the last installation though ... BUT ... perhaps what might have been the problem was the 1.2 Arm-patch ... the patch I used was designed to work on an extended version of doomsday thus did not install in the targeted folder but the "targeted folder/Armageddon" instead

...
the speed is scary indeed ...

last time I played it was a unpatched version on a P4 2,6 GHz and now on an I5 460 with the 1.1 patch it is truly scary how fast the clock it progressing
