I have this problem with all paradox games, but it bothers me the most in CK because I often get crashes after 50 years of not saving. I know save often would be the obvious thing to do, but often times I am too engaged to remember saving. I also refuse to turn on auto save because the game gets slow enough as it is on fastest mode after around 50 years of hastings scenario. What can I do to avoid this late game CTDS (usually happen after 2 hours, but the game also CTDS when i manually quit the game, instead of closing normally- hope that could be an indication of the nature of my crashing problem).

Im just wondering, are crashes like mine common? Are there people here who can claim that they haven't had a CTD for weeks, months, or even years (that aren't bug related, eg. push buggy button and ur game goes crap)? In my experience, paradox games are the most unstable games I have ever played because there hasn't been one 3-6 hour gaming binge where my game hasn't crashed.

I only get a CTD around 1075-1080 each time I play, but that is most likely linked to one of my modifications. But that only happens if I play continuesly from 1066 onwards. If I save and reloard before 1075 I don't get the CTD :wacko:
After that first hick-up I maybe get a CTD once every 350 years of gameplay, which is almost neglectable
