I would very much like to get the game running on one of my computers, but it just won't. I've installed the latest patch, the latest drivers for my video- and soundcards, and I have diskspace left. When I start EU it runs fine in the menu. But when I try to start an actual game it just closes. No error-messages, no nothing. It's quite annoying. The specs are low, a P200 64MB RAM and 4MB videocard, but it should at least be able to run on it even if it would be choppy.
Any ideas?

First of all, don't be that certain that it would run on that system..

Second, not entirely sure when you say it crashes? On load up? After loading up a scenario when you're in game?

It could be a specific patch related problem. Have you tried installing with the earlier patches? If so, have they worked?

a) if it crashes during the loading of a scenario its a fault with the files, maybe you edited some incorrectly?

b) if it crashes during the game, perhaps your pc is unable to handle it (i don't know the min specs, but I'd be very WEARY about trying it on this system)

c) could be sound / graphics problems, what drivers have you got? What video card?

Have you installed the game fine on other computers with the same patch?

It crashes at the instant I press the button 'start' after choosing a scenario.

No I wouldn't be sure of it either but I think at least it should START.

I have a Matrox Millenium II. All latest patches.

Matrox should work without any problems. As Johan said, check your virtual memory settings. Perhaps you might need to increase them, though its usually best to leave it up to windows itself.

Personally I have specified my own settings, of minimum 200, maximum 200. The amount you set really depends on the size of your hard drive.

a problem for me was that i have set the cd in my f: when i also had a e: and you shall always set the cd inte the drive whit the first letter

I had/have the same problem when trying to play with 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04 or 1.05b patches. It works well with 1.00 and 1.06 though, very glad I have the german version since the swedish one come with 1.01 and 1.06 is not released for the swedish verdion yet.

I only have about 300MB left on the drive. Do you think it would help if uninstalled it and played over network instead? Would increase loadtimes but would it work otherwise? And where can I change the virtual memory settings, or rather, WHAT should I change it to? I don't mind fiddling about but I'd like to have something to go by. Thanks!

played over network instead?

Try it but I don't belive it will work due to the copyprotection not allowing it. I might be wrong though as I have only tried to start the game from my 2nd comp's Cd drive (which didn't work).
