Vague would be an understatement for that post.

I would guess the answer is no, I can play for hours with no crash, the game is very stable. Care to elaborate on the problems you are having?

I am experiencing precisely the problem that I have stated: repetitive crashes.

My system is a fresh install and I have made sure I have the latest drivers. My other games run fine while this one, frankly, is catastrophic.

You don't say how long before the first crash occurs?
Do you always get into the game or does it happen on start up?
Is there any activity you are doing when they happen?
After the first one, does the second one happen faster or slower?
If you change the settings doe sit have any effect?
Does it Crash right to desktop?
Or does it just lock up?
If to desktop, does it lock the desktop as well?
If so do you need to do a hard reboot?
Or will a soft reboot do?
Do you get any kind of error message?
What does the event log say?
What is your system specs?
What are your drivers?
What are your settings?

Do I need to go on ?

Since the vast majority of people including me, have no trouble with the game, it has to be something in your setup or system, if you supply information instead of anger, I can help.

hi,

i had stability problems, too until....

deinstalling the hoi__2_demo, then deinstalling hoi_2, then (re-)installing hoi_2 and installing the patch 1.1.

since then it has never crashed so far.

Occasional crashes to desktop

Crashing to desktop now and then.
Five times in about twelve game hours.
Seems to happen more often while "surrender/load again" cycle.
Win XP, fully patched, 256 MByte RAM, no other apps active.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

To start see above.

Success!!

Problem solved , I uninstalled and reinstalled ,removed demo ,and have not had any crashes since .Now I am rolling through Southern Europe with the precision of a Swiss watch,Which of course I obtained by decimatingSwitzerland along with most of France.Your assistance is greatly appreciated . Oh and by the way This is probably the most useful forum I have had the pleasure of perusing . Keep up the good work.

I experience quite a few.

I play at home and at work. My work PC is quite a bit slower in CPU/RAM terms compared to my home PC (which frankly is a bit of a monster!) and I experience very few CTD's at home but loads at work. Problems seem to arise when I am war with the SU as Germany. I get the impression the PC just gives up and says 'bollocks to this, I'm off!'.

Hope this helps.

Maybe the boss gives them to you as way of telling you to get back to work. ;)

I am the boss!!!!!

That's how I get away with it!

Self employed is the only way to go.......
