So yeah, title says it all.
Every time I start to play the game, after about 1 minute of playtime the game hangs for a few seconds then crashes to desktop.
This happens every single time and as such the game is literally unplayable.

I have done a completely clean install of it, verified the files, and added it as an exception to my antivirus.

I have attached my DXDiag report, my crash logs, and my settings below.

Clearly a video issue:
[19:20:35][gfx_dx11_swapchain.cpp:197]: D3D error (D:\jenkins\workspace\titus-steam\cw\clausewitz\pdx_gfx2\DX11\gfx_dx11_swapchain.cpp:197): DeviceRemoveReason returned: The GPU will not respond to more commands, most likely because of an invalid command passed by the calling application.

[19:20:41][gfx_dx11_pixelbuffer.cpp:178]: D3D error (D:\jenkins\workspace\titus-steam\cw\clausewitz\pdx_gfx2\DX11\gfx_dx11_pixelbuffer.cpp:178): hr returned: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action.

I suggest you revert that "optional" AMD driver to the "Recommended" one from May 2020:

Good luck with that!

I reverted back to the May 2020 drivers and the game continues to crash. The reason still being "failed to create pixel buffer"

I did find however that even on the more up to date drivers, the game crashes far less often when I set the graphics to medium settings.
The game has still crashed on this these settings with the "failed to create pixel buffer" error, but only twice in about 20 hours of playtime.

PSGE-2795
I am sorry about this. We've seen a few others like this now but it's not at all clear why those particular installations are affected. I've passed this thread onto the developers.

Whether you want to just put this game aside or seek a refund is up to you.

Im getting the same exact error and I've done everything too and nothing seems to fix it. are you using it through steam or gamepass? its so frustrating seeing some people have no issues and a few of us are struggling for unknown reasons.

I'm not sure if this is a part of the pattern to reproduce the issue, but I can see OP is using 2560x1080. Worth mentioning I'm encountering the exact same issue when playing in 3440x1440.

Im using it through steam.

As I said above, for me the only thing that fixed it was turning the graphics settings down to medium. I think one of the higher settings options must be doing it, at least in my case.
On medium it still crashes on occasion but after hours of gameplay rather than seconds.
I haven't been through changing the settings one by one to find out which one is causing it yet though.

You can look at my error log, its almost identical... im glad im not the only having this issue because everyone just tells me, its probably your computer. your computer specs are better than mine, so that cannot be the issue. i tried lowering all the settings to medium and turning off all the extra features and it still does it.

Hello, new to forums here. Been looking around trying to fix issues all morning.

I've been putting out fires all over with this game, I don't remember when I've ever had so many different issues with a game before.

Had the issue where Avast was blocking it - disabled that. Had the ransomware issue not letting me open the game, got past that. Had an issue stating that I couldn't save, but could manually save, got the error anyways.

Oddly enough, I played multiple hours last night, with just the saving error (not ideal but workable), and now I can't get the game to run for more than a few seconds on high/medium. Reinstalled and installed multiple times. Ran as administrator.

Game seems to run on low settings.

I can't seem to figure out what setting is causing the crash. Changing them one at a time at the moment, but it might be a mix of settings.

Just done some testing on my end, It seems the Character SSAO is the most likely culprit. Just turning it on made the game crash in 15 seconds, there weren't even any characters on the screen.

That being said, as a side note, one of the reasons the error logs gave was that it thought my render device had been removed

Interesting finding, well done! I'll pass that onto the developers. We'll get there!
